It doesn't get much worse than this.

I'm not convinced that indian inspirations fits this genre like Brazilian music does.
Funny band name though - reminds me of https://youtu.be/ukznXQ3MgN0

There's so much genuinely boundary-pushing music in the metal scene right now, and Nu Delhi just isn't it. This is nu metal built on the foundations of Sepultura, Fear Factory, Electric Callboy, bands who do all of this better, with some localised Hindu instrumentation layered on top.
The BABYMETAL collaboration is strangely enough the clear standout on the record. But most of the rest lacks the hooks to stay engaging across a full listen.
Bands exist who fuse native and traditional music with metal far more interestingly than this, and against that standard, Nu Delhi doesn't feel like it earns a place here. I like metal. This just isn't pushing anything forward.

I love this dumb shit.

God, what a breath of fresh air. The original list was so obnoxious about only featuring dusty stuff that sounded sufficiently "old-world" and "influential for The Beatles" when it came to Indian music, so I consider this an incredibly necessary corrective. It's well-executed, extremely cheesy music for meatheads, and it occupies a vital, often-overlooked wedge of a balanced "world" music diet.

Indian nu metal. If it's your thing, its your thing. The Babymetal collab is pretty cool.

I enjoyed seeing a genre I love like nu metal mixed with Indian culture. It was a fun listen but overall didn't bring enough new to the table to cause me to become a fan I'd say.

Kiinnostavan erilainen mut vähän liian dudebro-siistiä -tyyppistä heviä et jaksais kauheesti heilauttaa. 3/5

Hell yeah! Possibly my new favourite band, and Dhadak is my favourite song of this year (even if it came out last year!) - their twist on "float like a butterfly" is one of the rare perfect moments in music. An absolute joy, from a band clearly having a blast, and another discography for me to explore in full.
Thank you so much for the nomination!

First Indian heavy metal album I’ve listened to. I actually really enjoyed this, not a massive metal head but the short running time meant this didn’t outstay its welcome.
