Yea this front half is cool, though not really my aesthetic.
Rated 4/10
Pretty boring and unoriginal, but not actively bad. Probably scores a second star largely because of how terrible other albums on the list are! Far from essential listening though - just another sad American who knows 4 chords

I definitely preferred the first half of the album, which has a more upbeat, direct style with some really catchy songs and a great balance of indie rock and pop. The second half is much more slow-paced and retrospective, which is quite a contrast and will probably take a few more listens to fully appreciate.
Overall though, I really enjoyed this and can see it going into my frequent rotation. A great example of genuinely good modern music, although I suppose 10 years old now!
