Rated 8/10

Very long, especially with a weird half hour commentary track at the end (which i didn't listen to fully, since it wasn't actually on the album). As is often the case with the Chilis, the good songs are great, but there's a lot of filler.

Rated 5/10

A little bit of these guys goes a long way, and this was a lot of these guys. I did think it was pretty interesting that this was all original material (well, "original" as long as we're not counting things like Dani California blatantly ripping off Tom Petty), but had the vibe of a best-of compilation. Wore me down slower than their other albums because of how much they were drifting around.

Rated 6/10

A good Red Hot Chili Peppers album in its own right, with plenty of great songs, but the double-album format makes it feel far too long. There’s enough here that I enjoy, but I rarely find myself wanting to come back to it, especially when I already have Californication, Blood Sugar Sex Magik and By the Way ahead of it. Definitely not a bad album, but I don’t think I need a fourth RHCP album on the list.
