Rated 4/10

I don't love Cameron's voice, and I found the music a little forgettable (veering in places towards irritating), although I enjoyed the Angel Olson feature.

Rated 2/10

Bland 80s worship. Doesn't do anything interesting or new.

Rated 6/10

Is it just me, or does the dude on the album cover look exactly like 90's WWE wrestling superstar HBK (Shawn Michaels).

This album sounds like it is right out of the 80's. It is Australian synth pop/soft rock. Nothing to write home about, but not bad.

Favorite songs: Marlon Brando, Runnin' Outta Luck, Country Figs, Candy May, Stranger's Kiss, Politics of Love

Least favorite songs: The Chihuahua (he says the word pussy way too many times in this song...)

Rated 8/10

Somehow simultaneously fun and painful. Dips a little too far into misery porn for my taste.

Rated 4/10

When I saw new wave and synthpop as main genre descriptors, I was not expecting new wave in the "The Killers sing like Bruce Springsteen" sense, but if they were a lot more obsessed with the word pussy.

Rated 1/10

80s-pop piss take that's very pleased with itself that it gets to use grown-up words. Complete snoozefest for me.

Rated 4/10

ok buddy, lets take it easy with the cheese tones on that synth. What is Runnin' Outta Luck. Is this homage or is it derivative? "Love is a dragon dressed in suede and leathery?" What in the hell?

Rated 8/10

Hilarious! 🤣

Rated 10/10

Never heard of Alex Cameron before, but absolutely loved this. Brilliantly quirky lyrics with 80’s happy sound. Probably one of my favourite albums Iv come across on the new list so far.

Rated 2/10

This is some kinda meta-level irony that I don't have the time or the patience to come to appreciate.
