That was fun, but not particularly memorable

Rated 8/10

Really fun and catchy 90s power pop. I haven't listened to them as much as I should.

Rated 8/10

Frosting On The Beater knows exactly what it is and delivers it without pretension. Inoffensive power pop: and for once that's not an insult.
Dream All Day opens the album perfectly: massive hook, crunchy guitars, harmonies that sit somewhere between Lennon/McCartney and Big Star. The rest of the album follows through on that promise without ever quite matching it, but also without ever dropping the ball. Slightly more accessible than most of what grunge was doing in 1993, but solid and powerful enough to never become boring.
The Posies are clearly exceptional craftsmen and the songwriting intelligence is real. But the album delivers exactly what it promises from start to finish, no more and no less. Sometimes that's enough.

Total slog start to finish

Rated 8/10

Reminded me of The Dandy Warhols in the way it takes a British sound and Americanises it, makes it bigger and more aggressive. Really liked it. Also reminded me of the Foo Fighters in places.

Rated 2/10

I love irrelevant music.

Rated 8/10

American indie from a time when grunge was everything

Rated 8/10

Never listened to the posies before, I’m a fan of teenage fan club, so this music is right up my street, a great suggested album. Frustrating Spotify only seems
To have a 5 track version of the album available, but I enjoyed listening to their greatest hits after that.

Rated 6/10

Seems like the sort of thing that would've been on the list.
