Rated 8/10

This album is a drastic change from everything else I've ever heard of Bon Iver. Super cryptic, super experimental, super minimalistic. His shit is usually largely "Unplugged", but with this album, he fucks with lyrics/sounds using synths/harmonizers. He dips his toes into hip hop a bit even. Very interesting album. Once ya settle into how weird it is, it's pretty solid.

I just want to listen to albums that don't give me a migraine on the first track is that so much to ask

Rated 6/10

The Kid A of Americana, full of glitchy beats and autotuned vocals. Sounds like the past being dragged kicking and screaming into the future, and absolutely not what anyone expected.

Rated 4/10

Boney Iver, you've locked away in your tiny hoooooommmmeeee. Honestly, this sounds like a knockoff Kanye album. Tbh, I have never really been into Bon Iver. Something about his music always feels just so....overworked? overwrought?

Rated 5/10

Comes in swinging, and then settles into kind of a "Dreamy" space. Would have preferred the alchemy lean harder toward the first mode, but overall it was pretty decent

Rated 6/10

Not my favourite Bon Iver album, but still different enough and interesting enough to be considered for this list.

Rated 6/10

Folk boy goes experimental with mixed results. Seldom has auto tune been more unnecessarily applied.
