Like a polar snowstorm, the songs on this come on like a cold atmospheric wind, weaving melodies drenched in reverb. The fact that it's more leaning towards other genres like neo-psych and Britpop, and is less of the classic shoegaze formula, is probably the reason why this album stands above the rest of the shoegaze posse to me, alongside with expanding the palette of instruments to include horns into the mix.
