Maybe it was a hell of a live show, but it's a lackluster album

Love the energy of the Stooges...audio quality almost makes this unlistenable though. 3/5

A very Inside Baseball album. More interesting historically than musically.
Rated 4/10
Pretty interesting story behind it which definitely elevates the album. The recording sounds like absolute crap but maybe that's part of the appeal.
Rated 8/10
Rough as hell, but just as nature intended. Gets extra points for "this is a song I wrote with my mother..." and Iggy getting eggy.
Rated 8/10
Iggy Live bringing the power and the DANGER. Way to antagonize the crowd Iggy, I wish I sounded this good if people were throwing shit at me. 1! 2! FUCK YOU PRICKS! Dude is there a riot happening in the background?! This is an insane record.
Rated 6/10
Love the stooges, not a fan of live albums, I think I struggle with this one as the sound quality is so low, I’m not sure the raw energy offsets that here. Obvious would be incredible to be there at the time but I don’t get it from this recording. I’d rather just listen to the studio albums.
But all that aside, the historical significance of this album and the eruption of punk following it, I can’t not give it at least 3 stars.
Rated 8/10
If there is a place for live albums (which I doubt) then this is certainly worthy of consideration.
The crowd baiting must have sounded absolutely crazy at the time - who in their right mind would insult an audience like that - but was an influence (like the music was) on so many of the bands who followed.
Very nearly 5; I'm still not a fan of live cuts on principle.
