Good to return my roots of meme music.

One of his more annoying outings.

okay this is the second day albums have gotten wilder and more internet savvy. This takes all the early culture and just blends, transposes, rotates, and refracts it around in a sample barrage that is both disorienting and delightful. Its like if Girl Talk didn't give a shit about festivals and decided to live on Youtube instead. YOU CANNOT ESCAPE ALL OF THE SMASH MOUTH IN THIS ALBUM. This album really delivers a sacrilegious experience. The Sharpest Tool is the most challenging track so far. A fantastic art piece that went out with the expectation of making its audience hate the crap out of it. Very funny, very successful, fuck this album.

This isn't five stars, but I'm giving it five stars because so much of this user-submitted list of albums is fucking trash. Miserable trash. This is trash, too, but at least it's fun.

The Mouth cycle are my four actual favorite albums, I just didn't know we got to count them as real music since they are so obviously musical shit posts.

Some people here treat it like avant-garde comedy; others as a bizarre love letter to internet nostalgia. Others just think this is too... online.
Coming at it from a listener’s perspective rather than an internet historian’s: this inside-joke of early 2000's internet culture relies heavily on recognition rather than on craft. If you’ve heard inventive mashup work (like Girl Talk’s Feed the Animals or The Avalanches’ Since I Left You) this feels lazy because, musically, it is. It's honestly a lot of slapping things on top of one another.
Please appreciate it all you like with everything you recognise, but this really isn't for me. And I was there when this all came out. Didn't really appreciate it then either.

At least when this sounds like two (or more) songs at once, it is definitely on purpose! I didn't recognise the name, but I have heard a lot of his other work, through my kids, and this stands up well in comparison. I loved a mash-up back in the day, and this album reminded me why. Sometimes funny, sometimes technically impressive, often both, and an absolute joy

So dumb but so good. If I was going to pick one mashup artist to include it would be Girl Talk, but Cicierega would be number two for sure. These get stuck in your head so bad.

Man, it's a hot one. Heroic use of a patreon user submission; I think op now has a responsibility to submit Astro Lounge when they finish the project in 3 years.
This one's the most one-note out of Neil C.'s Mouth series, but if you're only going to send one of them in, it makes sense to go with this one. It showcases a surprising number of songs that showed up in the original & user lists—I lost my mind when I realized the intro song was the same tune from ELP's Pictures at an Exhibition.

Given this was only on YouTube, I found it hard to listen and then adverts popping up in between songs, sometimes the adverts were not as annoying my as the samples themselves..
