The electroacoustic and experimental elements of this album whisk this album out of the realm of what most people would think of as pop. Perhaps the most boring album cover I've ever seen hides one of the most interesting albums I've heard. Her personal website explains her music best in the Bio section: her sound is "derived from her classical music education and the experimental interpretation of electronic devices, as she intertwines contemporary elements such as 'shoegaze' and 'dreampop' with ancestral influences like Gregorian chanting". The result is an ethereal vocal beauty grounded in the gritty electronics and the harsher sounds of the cello.
