"Anesthesia" is simply brilliant, a brave, playful exploration of Halvorson's varied influences, and, oh my, this sextet is tight throughout, masterfully improvising rollicking tracks that (sometimes) challenge the ear but don't overstay their welcome. I love it when improvisational wanderings coalesce.
