Clear Line

The line isn't clear. It's not even close to clear. Sure, the notes are clear, sometimes soothing, sometimes wild, but the line isn't clear. How can it be when there's no rhythm section? This is merely an observation, not a criticism. The inventive, playful way in which the 13 horns are used is a fascinating adventure in the unfolding saga of modern experimental big bands.
