This chapter is utterly unlike the rest of the Coin Coin project in that there is very little if any jazz presence. Instead we get a palimpsest of the spoken word amid a wash of droning, the reading of slavers' journals, and a general sense of a hopeless and helpless descent into madness, where lullabies cannot soothe your children's jagged wails. This is the naked horror of the transatlantic slave trade.
