Texas Flood

Blues was already kind of mainstream by this point -- Stevie Ray Vaughan did nothing new nor especially innovating. Yet despite that, he did take the blues wherever the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton had shoved it previously and made it enjoyable again.

It's mostly wanky guitar playing, so if that's not your cup of tea, don't bother listening to this or any other SVR release. To me, it's a very enjoyable collection of songs that never cease to amaze and put me in a good mood. Only Mary Had a Little Lamb is a dud, but I can look past it due to some serious bangers like Pride and Joy, Testify, Love Struck Baby, Lenny, and Dirty Pool.
