Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star

A bit longer than I would've liked it to be, but it still has enough meat to it to be a tasty meal. Both Mos Def and Talib have a lot of lyrical power that requires deeper reading and listening, and the beats here have that grimy quality mixed with a lot of east coast cultural appreciation.

"Respiration" was always a favorite of mine, which I've always felt stood out for some reason on this album (I feel as if the production is much clearer, or that the overall flow of the song doesn't quite go the same way the rest of the album does), but listening to it front to back, there's a lot more like "Astronomy", "K.O.S", "Children Story", and "Thieves in the Night", which are all amazing in their own little way.
