Ltvsll stdtted sounding similar after a few songs. Love the energy
Rated 8/10
Pues me ha molado el rap este, mezcla curiosa ya que en su canción más popular parecen más rockeros que raperos. Remarcable la canción "Girls", no se por qué pero la base me ha encantado.
Rated 6/10
New drinking game: take a shot every time they say “girlies” then die of alcohol poisoning. Appreciate the blend of rap and rock here but there’s only one flow between 3 different dudes.
Rated 3/10
not really my thing, the back and forth between them all the time gets tiring
Rated 4/10
I know this is considered a classic, and majorly influential, etc. But to me, it really hasn't aged well. Several of the songs come off like bad jokes that run way too long (for ex Paul Revere) and many have cringe inducing immature lyrics. There are a couple of greats on here though, like Fight For Your Right, No Sleep til Brooklyn and Brass Monkey. I'm deducting a full star here for "Girls", for reasons which I hope are obvious.

Better than expected 4/5

“Some voices got treble, some voices got bass/ we got the kind of voices that are in your face.”
The Beastie Boys are one of those rare bands that seem to be their own genre. Though they straddle the line between hip hop and punk, what’s true is that no one else sounds like the Beastie Boys. At least not without sounding like they’re “doing” the Beastie Boys.
The production is sparse, leaving plenty of room for their particular brand of rap. And they really sound like the no-goodniks they claim they are.
This album is immediate, goofy, defiant, and makes you want to smash a beer bottle over your head and rip your shirt off while howling at the moon.
Rated 6/10
I like a lot of Beastie Boys tracks, but damn man, so much of this is just irritating and repetitive. Some of the samples and beats are good. Fight For Your Right is a classic and I love it. No Sleep Till Brooklyn is good.
2.5 rounded up.

Overall, Licensed To Ill was a very mixed bag for me, There were some songs that sounded very good and the rapping was pretty cool but on the other hand some songs could get really annoying due to some of the musical choices. I mostly liked the songs that had more rock elements but some of the simple rap songs weren't bad either. It is not a perfect album by any means but I feel the good outweighs the bad
Best Song: No Sleep Till Brooklyn
Worst Song: Girls
Rated 6/10
Good dumb fun, very juvenile and tongue in cheek (presumably) - can't think I'll ever want to listen to again
Rated 8/10
Fight For Your Right is so much fun, from "Kick it" onwards. Several other great tracks on this, but the Beastie Boys would go on to better it by quite a bit.
Rated 10/10
This is the second studio album by Beastie Boys that I've reviewed on this album generator. Right out of the gate, Rhymin & Stealin samples Black Sabbath's Sweet Leaf as well as Led Zeppelin's When the Levee Breaks. The ability to mix heavy metal with hip hop beats and lyrics shows insane talent!!
Fight For Your Right and No Sleep Till Brooklyn are both absolute bangers! This album is so legendary!
Overall, a fantastic album today. I will absolutely listen again.
Favourite songs: Fight For Your Right, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, Rhymin & Stealin, She's Crafty, Posse in Effect, Slow Ride, "Hold It Now, Hit It", Slow and Low, Time to Get Ill
Least favourite songs: The New Style, Brass Monkey

Hey what the fuck, I never put together that "Brass Monkey" was from these guys. Beastie Boys are fun, kind of feel like a joke band a lot of the time, but they're clearly in on the bit
Rated 6/10
Realizing that my favorite Beastie Boys songs are the ones that don’t look like Beastie Boys.
Rated 8/10
Undeniably classic, referenced and recognizable. It's a shame is so juvenile.
Rated 6/10
The second half is more rock influenced and stronger than the first half, but overall it's very fun and light-hearted.
Rated 2/10
Maybe the worst Beastie's album. Very juvenile in humor and appeal. 1.5/5
Rated 8/10
Licensed to Ill is definitely a debut: The Beasties' sound isn't as refined or experimental as later releases, and there's a vein of casual misogyny. But you can feel the freshness, the energy, and I love the way it moves so fast. It's like being machine-gunned to death by rhyming couplets.
Rated 6/10
This re-listen of Licensed To Ill was a nostalgia trip. I've listened to this album a LOT in my youth and I still know every song. I very much enjoyed listening to this incredibly fun and energetic album again. Listening and almost giggling to the bashful and playful lyrics. And it certainly belongs on this list due to the impact it had on music.
But putting the sentiments of my youth aside - this is not a really good album by itself. Neither is it revolutionary.
The music was a couple of white boys doing what Run-DMC had already been doing for years - and was doing better. This brought a bit more punky and ska ('Girls') feeling to it.
A few standout songs are still on here, 'No Sleep Till Brooklyn' is still a catchy and hilarious rocky anthem that should bring a smile to anyone's face. 'Paul Revere' and 'Brass Monkey' are standout tracks on this album and are giving a glimpse of what brilliant madness is to come on Paul's Boutique and Check Your Head
