shoutout to all the guys in college that were like "duude you gotta listen to sigur rós! They're so trippy and relaxing!" because they were mostly right about this. I'm not always in the right mood for this sorta thing, but when I am, it's good to put on.

This album is a beacon and a buoy, and you, in the dark yet glimmering waters, are invited to swim around it, explore it, enjoy it, and immerse yourself in its ocean. This album is the elf who stares back at you through your own eyes when you look in the mirror late at night, when you need sleep but cannot find it. This album is an airstrike on the finest day you've ever seen.

Ugh, I really love this. It definitely helps to listen to this as an album in its entirety. Turn the sound way up and let the whole thing wash over you in its sublime majesty. The whole album is solid, with big melancholic soundscapes throughout, and flashes of searing beauty (notably with songs like Starálfur). The long tracks go by so quickly.
I love everything about this. The album art, the concept, everything.

That first track past the intro is an absolute stunner. But it sets the bar so high the rest of the album has a hard time staying up at that level. I'm intrigued by the spacey, atmospheric sound, but the vocals usually break me out of the hypnotic spell, with the exception of that first track, where the vocals are handled differently than on the rest of the album. Definitely one of the better albums that came in the wake of "OK Computer." I'd give "Svefn-g-englar" 5 stars but as an album it's just a 3 for me.

Quite unusual. I'd expect in the right setting this would be quite cool. Just felt a bit odd listening in my office on a Monday morning.

This morning I was walking in the nearby wetlands, on a foggy morning. Revisiting this album.
I almost forgot how warm, ethereal and beautiful music can make me feel.
This is one of the most amazing pieces of music ever made.

very relaxing first two tracks, though with the average song being over 6 minutes, we are going to see if this album starts to wear out its welcome. Staralfur has the sappiest strings and is really effective right now, though the end leaves me cold. The rest of the album just sort of meanders aroud.

Familiar with a couple of Sigur Rios songs but first time listening to this album, wow, so atmospheric absolutely a masterpiece. Can see me listening to this a lot this year.

Kyllä se vaan toimii. Jotenkin ilman ymmärrettävää kieltä Sigur Ros osaa kuitenkin rimputella sydänjuuriani.
Rated 8/10
Gorgeous and uplifting album. Every piece of it really fits so well together.

Good album, was everywhere for a while, but the songs stil hold up. Very relaxing, very chilled, very enjoyable in a low key way. Svefn-g-englar probably my favourite, along with the title track
