Pretty solid musical soundtrack, You can tell the ensemble put a lot of effort here, it does blend together a bit and some of the lyrics are a bit dumb though

1990Daniel Johnston

Rated 1/10

This was terrible, Songs followed the same boring formula, Johnston's vocals were terrible and the recording quality was awful. Not a good mix

This was a really fun jazz rock record, it's weird without going overboard and it's just got some really fun, jazzy tracks.

Rock 'N Soul was an alright album but it was one i had a bit of trouble keeping up with. I've never really heard of this guy prior to this album but i still think that it's title is decently fitting. It is pretty much your standard 60s R&B record and has basically all the aspects that you would typically find in one from the vocals and backing vocals, to the music and the lyrics. It definitely wasn't a bad listen. Those elements, while formulaic still sounded pretty okay and it didn't have anything that egregiously wrong with it. It just suffered from the issue of being too samey and forgettable which so many albums suffer from.
Best Song: You're Good for Me
Worst Song: Someone to Love Me

In It For The Money was a very fun listening experience. I haven't heard any of the songs off this album before unlike their prior record where i heard Alright quite a lot in several different places. This album gave very heavy Oasis vibes seeing as both Oasis and Supergrass are britpop bands but a lot of the elements especially the guitars, give off heavy Oasis vibes. However, what sets this band apart from Oasis and it's other contemporaries is the keyboards. They give this album a very wacky feel especially in that last song and sound really good to boot. Every other element of this album was great too including the guitars which really help make this album a 5 for me.
Best Song: Going Out
Worst Song: In It For The Money

The Rising is a decent if inessential album. Bruce Springsteen already has 5 albums on the list including this one which would mean that the albums are all very different from each other but no, there isn't too much of a difference between them outside of some little things which makes it more baffling. I'm not saying this album is bad. The production and musicianship are solid and the lyrics diving into the 9/11 terrorist attacks was actually a pretty nice idea and i haven't seen that all too much but I don't really think it does much to 1. Justify it's length at 72 minutes and 2. be on this list when Bruce Springsteen already has 4 other albums here.
Best Song: Let's Be Friends (Skin to Skin)
Worst Song: Paradise
Side note: Last Bruce Springsteen album, which means:
1. Born In The U.S.A.
2. Born To Run
3. Darkness On The Edge Of Town
4. The Rising
5. Nebraska

You Are The Morning was actually a very lovely album. This sounded very differently from what i was expecting it to sound like. When i saw the album art and artist name on the Amazon listing of the new edition, i thought this was going to be an electronic album but this ended up being more of a singer-songwriter sort of album. And it was a very nice listen with some very good musicianship and songwriting and Jasmine's voice was quite nice to listen to. I do think that some of the songs (especially in the first half) did sound kinda samey but the album rectified that as it went on while maintaining it's relaxing vibe. I was shocked at how much i enjoyed this one.
Best Song: Roan
Worst Song: Kitchen

I initially thought that Unknown Pleasure was gonna be a 3 but as i kept listening to it, the more i kept getting closer and closer to being a 4. Unlike Closer which felt more like something i would hear in the background of some JRPG from the late 90s early 2000s, This one definitely felt more full and had a fair bit more stuff going. Like I also said up top, this album was a case of an album that got better as it went on and when it got to the back half, it was nothing but really good songs. In general, the dingy sound of it combined with the great musicianship made it an album that was really enjoyable to listen to. It's not exactly perfect but it's still a really good one.
Best Song: Interzone
Worst Song: Candidate

C’est ChicChic

Rated 6/10

C'est Chic was certainly a pretty solid album. The only song i knew from this album was Le Freak which i have heard in a few places but i still pretty much knew what to expect from this album. It's a disco album and it pretty much has all the strengths and weaknesses that you would expect from the genre. For the strengths, there is funkiness, good vocals and smooth basslines. And there is the weaknesses with 70s cheesiness to a bit of an annoying degree and there is also the fact that a good majority of the songs here go on for at least a minute longer than they should. I still feel that the good outweighs the bad here but not enough to put this album above a 3. Still decently solid though.
Best Song: Le Freak
Worst Song: Chic Cheer

Otis Blue/Otis Redding Sings Soul was a really solid album. I initially thought there was going to be a female singer singing this due to the album cover but nope this is very much a man singing. Speaking of covers but with a different meaning, judging by the title, I did expect this album to be mostly covers and i was right but there were 3 songs Redding wrote. I will say that the album was a nice listen. The music was really solid and so was Redding's voice. The only issue is that i don't have much else to really say about this album, It is a good one but i don't think there is much that this album does differently from other soul albums.
Best Song: (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
Worst Song: Down in the Valley

Rumours was a really good album. This album is tied with Abbey Road for being the highest rated album on this whole site and i can absolutely see why. I mainly knew this album for The Chain, Go Your Own Way and Dreams which in my opinion are the highlights of the album as they are songs that are incredibly melodic while still being quite catchy and enjoyable. Even the other tracks on the album, while not as memorable as the singles, are still good in their own right and do quite a fair bit to differentiate themselves from the other tracks too. It isn't quite on my top albums when it comes to me but i think it is a worthy album to be at the top regardless.
Best Song: The Chain
Worst Song: Oh Daddy

FragileYes

Rated 8/10

Fragile is 100% Yes' best album and i don't think it is even close. This one is probably best known for that Jojo's Bizarre Adventure song aka Roundabout which is a good song alongside the other ones. The guitars and synths were nice as was the bass and in general, the album knew how to keep itself interesting and varied more than their other albums. My only real issue with the album though is that some of the songs feel more like disjointed ideas rather than fully fledged songs which makes sense since this album is going for progressive rock and that genre is bound to have stuff like that but it still is a bit distracting. Despite that, this was a really good album and like i said, Yes' best.
Best Song: Heart of the Sunrise
Worst Song: We Have Heaven
Side note: Last Yes album, which means:
1. Fragile
2. Close To The Edge
3. The Yes Album

Rated 10/10

Cross is one hell of a great album. The only song i knew from this album was D.A.N.C.E. which makes sense as it is their most popular one. A good majority of the songs here did manage to top it though as they were all just so vibey and fun. Those basslines are easily one of the highlights of the album, they are just so smooth and work immensely well with all the electronic synths and beats. These songs also had so many hooks to the point where there wasn't a point in the album where i wasn't hooked and absolutely vibing with the music. There really isn't a single issue i can think of with this album, just an immensely fun album that had be bopping my head to it several times.
Best Song: Phantom
Worst Song: TThhEe PPaARRtTYY
Side note: Considering what's currently going on in France, that video for Stress sure aged very well

When it comes to Murder Ballads, all i can say is there were things i liked about it, and things i did not like about it. The music was the thing that was the most consistently good about the album. The guitars, pianos and everything else sounded quite nice and really added to this album's vibe. Now for the vocals and lyrics though, i was a bit more divisive towards. For the most part were pretty solid from Nick, Kylie, PJ, Shane and Anita but when Nick would start doing weird mouth sounds in some songs, it got annoying. The lyrics could also range from inspired to insipid. Overall, it's an album with pretty divisive aspects to me but was overall a pretty decent listen.
Best Song: Song of Joy
Worst Song: O'Malley's Bar
