The Good: We get to acknowledge where we’re born…
The Bad: That it is the Bayou…
The Ugly: Getting bitten by them bayou skeeters…

These kind of albums are just lovely, lasting just a tad over half an hour, perfect for a quick listen, tapping one’s toe to the beat, while realizing that you’ve probably heard most of the songs roughly 100 times in your life, if you are of my age that is…

This marks the last CCR album on the list… I’ve given the other ones 4* each, and I don’t see why I should change that now.

Here’s to the bayou!

4*

The Good: Vince’s Bus Erupted, but was not destroyed!
The Bad: The Bus’s eruptum was a belch…
The Ugly: Blue Cheers… is a sob…

According to Wiki, this is where Heavy Metal started… odd.. the entire time I was listening to this album I kept waiting for Jimi to start singing.
Can you blame me, as it really sounds like Jimi on the guitar…

Anyway, this is no heavy metal for me. It would be blues rock, if anything… it wasn’t bad… but it got stale for me after 2 songs… and there are only 6 to listen to.

So, guess that this means I don’t agree with all them experts out there hailing this as an excellent HM album…

3*

The Good: Knowing we aren’t alone this winter…
The Bad: It’s fucking summer here…
The Ugly: Hyphened last-names… too progressive!

Yeah, the above is a direct nod to Hot Tube Time Machine… which is a lovely movie about a bunch of friends who travel back in time, when things were more fun…

Not this album… It let’s us travel in our mind, and makes us ponder, to a certain extent, what we are doing…

I really like the album, and yet, I have very little desire to listen to the album with much frequency… maybe because this is not the kind of album you play as background music during a party…

I do have a desire to go buy one of his books…

4*

The Good: At least we know there’s murder happening…
The Bad: We don’t know who, or what, got murdered…
The Ugly: Where there’s blood there’re guts… and stuff…

Mr Dylan… what is there to say about this album?
It was a nice listen. I am glad I listened to it… I just can’t recall the experience a couple of days later.

Maybe I will listen to it again today… maybe not.
That last song, that was the big one though… always nice when an album ends on the big one.

Thanks Mr Dylan.

ArularM.I.A.

Rated 2/10

The Good: NOTHING
The Bad: Me having to listen to this shit
The Ugly: That it seems MIA is good enough to get 2 fucking albums on this list…

FUCK YOU DIMERY!!!!
this is shit, pretty much all sounds the same… …
Hated her other album just as much.

Waste of my time

1*

The Good: We get to play poker!
The Bad: It turns out it is Lemmy who get’s to poke her…
The Ugly: The fucking mole…

Ace of Spades, what a way to start the day.
Somehow the version of this album that I listened to include a second disc with live versions of the album… can’t say I hated listening to it…

This album is a must listen to all those who say that metal sucks…

Rock n Roll mothafuckers!!!

5*

Future DaysCan

Rated 8/10

The Good: We get to kick around a can again!
The Bad: We kicked the can around so much, we overlooked the future…
The Ugly: Nothing…

I don’t know what to think about this. I really don’t. I was really impressed with the other album that presented itself on this list, but I did not get the same “wow” feeling listening to this one.
Maybe the song length had something to do with it?

Still, it was a good companion during my morning walk…
Oh, that’s right… I remember now.
This is like EDM, but it isn’t. To think that I don’t like EDM, but I kind of liked this… which made me feel bad...

3 1/2*, just uncertain if I should upgrade it...

En-TactThe Shamen

Rated 6/10

The Good: This hasn’t been touched!
The Bad: We were dupped by shamens… it has been touched…
The Ugly: All the touchy feely on this album…

Electronica isn’t my thing… but it serves a purpose every now and again… like, during walks when you need to think about nothing…

Did I enjoy it? No.
Did it help with the walk? Yes.
Shall we shoot down the middle on this one?

3*

The Good: We’re going on a safari!
The Bad: Ain’t that kind of elephant…
The Ugly: A zebra with an elephant’s “trunk”…

That was terrible… the above…

Album wise. What a way to start an album with a modern day classic… 7 Nations Army duh duhm duhm…

I have to say, I never was too impressed by Jack W, but since this list I’ve changed my opinion. He is a great musician, and this band ain’t bad either… but three albums on this list?

I guess that is my biggest gripe about The White Stripes: I won’t actively click play on one of their albums, yet, if one of their songs happens to be on a playlist I’d happily pay attention.

Anyway, got to give this 4*

The Good: We get to talk about poetry!
The Bad: Who wants to talk to a taxman?
The Ugly: The working class delivery to be more… working class?

So, according to Apple Music, this is a double album… and trust me, this should not be a double album. Unless you like to get punished…

The protest songs aren’t bad. The instrumentations isn’t either. But the fucking voice…
Then, on side two, all of a sudden, I started listening to songs that I could really get into… to find out that those were not sung by Billy B…

Guess he needs to stop bragging…

3*

The Good: We were right!
The Bad: It made us die… for some odd reason…
The Ugly: Being lied to about drowning…

Yes.

No.

I don’t recall… I am getting tired of this list and the subpar albums I need to listen to… to think that I still have over 250 albums to go…

Did I drown?

2*

The Good: We’re gonna dance!
The Bad: We don’t know how to dance salsa…
The Ugly: Dancing like a chimp amongst gyrating hips…

My ex liked salsa… which means I don’t…

Can I appreciate what Tito did on this record? Yes, for a couple of songs.
However, an entire album starts to feel too repetitive… and makes me want to dance even less!

Still, this music beats having to listen to some of the other assorted crap I’ve had the displeasure of listening to…
Oh, and hurrah for Wikipedia, as I always thought Tito Puente was Cuban… but he be a NYC homeboy.

3*

The Good: No need to worry about the threat, it’s only minor!
The Bad: It is out of step…
The Ugly: Sidestepping a minor threat into a mayor threat…

What?

So, thankfully, this album was barely the length of single side album, so I was able to listen to it twice, just to get a better idea…

And here’s my idea… Punk Rock serves a purpose… unless that purpose is creating a romantic atmosphere, or trying to negotiate dinner plans with kids…
It is great for a short work-out though! Or a quick fight…

Anyway, I was impressed by the level of musicianship of the lads, thus I shall grant them 3*… unless they sidestep again!

The Good: We are part of a fucking fanclub!
The Bad: Having to deal with fucking teenagers…
The Ugly: Still not understanding the album name…

This album does belong on the list… not because it is great, but because you can hear how many bands afterwards did a much better job!

I was okay with the first song… but the remaining songs made me dream of a hot bath and a razor blade…
Depressing is not something a fanclub should be about.

Anyway, it is listenable… for those who like it.

Me, I will give it a 2 1/2 upgraded because I am feeling generous today!

The Good: We get to apply logic…
The Bad: Seems that we don’t understand the progression though…
The Ugly: The blood pouring out of my scalp as I am still scratching to figure out why the fuck I had to listen to this…

Let it be said, there are moments for music like this… those moments involve a certain age, consumption of certain substances, presence of certain people.

I checked non of the above boxes when I was listening to this… on top, fucking album is impossible to find via the streaming services, which should tell you something…

Worse, 2 of them fucking albums.

2* for wasting my time twice!

The Good: It’s a first!
The Bad: It’s not the last…
The Ugly: If this is what a public image should look like…

Fuck me that was hard to get through.

Then again, maybe it is genius…

Then again, maybe not.

2*

Black MetalVenom

Rated 6/10

The Good: We get to bang our heads!
The Bad: Got a haircut the other day, buzzcut not good for banging one’s head…
The Ugly: Venom… I mean… You know… Poison…

Metal is not my thing. I can handle a little here, and a little there… but these cats… wait, these bats, well, they are not my cup of Poison!

Every Rose has it’s Thorns… am I right?

Also, I am starting to get rating fatigue syndrome, and find myself with nothing to say about albums I don’t really care that much about.

Will give the band 3* for effort

The Good: Ella Fitzgerald!
The Bad: It’s not a book…
The Ugly: Having to listen to 3+ hours of Gershwin songs…

I am not going to repeat what most people have already said.

Shame that we couldn’t have just been presented with Ella Fitzgerald’s In A Mellow Mood… 38 minutes of mellowness, probably an easy 4*, or more…

Anyway, plenty of memorable Gershwin tunes on this album, if you can sit through them all… and it was not easy.

3*

The Good: There’s a box… and we like boxes
The Bad: It’s of metal when we prefer cardboard.
The Ugly: My Public Image…

Why is this album on this list?

It has totally fucked with my rating for that decade as I can’t give this album a 3* just to break even.

Johnny Rotten should have stuck with the Sex Pistols… oh wait, they couldn’t, because they were all strung out or already dead…

Here’s to today’s album being a better listen!

2*

The Good: We get to run, at midnight!
The Bad: We really want to sleep, around midnight…
The Ugly: Falling asleep in the middle of the search…

Okay, so that top one was bad… sue me.

Second album by DMR, and I believe that I gave the other album a 5* as it was surprisingly fun to listen to.

This album was a bit more of a chore… though, I could see this being the background music being played at a party, and many people wondering who the artist are as they are enjoying themselves.

Anyway, can’t give this one a 5* , but good enough for another spin.
