This is my second Divine Comedy album I've gotten on this generator. As stated before, this guy wrote the theme song to Father Ted, as well as the song "My Lovely Horse" which was used in the show. There's a song on this album where dude is singing about being a horse. Made me laugh given the fact he also wrote "My Lovely Horse". Dude loves horses apparently.

I love this guys lyrics. This song called If I Were You (I'd Be Through With Me) he says:

If I were you, I'd end my days,
In fields of stupid sheep just grazing,
The grass so succulent and sweet,
If I were you I'd be through with me

This dude loves barnyard animals in general. Makes sense given the fact that he's from Northern Ireland, and there are a fuck ton of sheep up there.

I really love this guys obsession with singing about animals. The final song on the record, I'm All You Need, begins like this:

Don't look a horse in the mouth,
Don't let a frog get you down,
Dragging you round like a dog on a lead,
I'm all you need...

This guys fascination with horses is hilarious.

Favourite songs: I'm All You Need, Everybody Knows (Except You), If..., If I Were You (I'd Be Through With Me)

Least favourite songs: Timewatching, Someone

No..... Just no.....

Sinatra comes across in all his music as a desperate, thirsty fuck. Calm the fuck down Frankie, women are allowed to like other men.

Why is Sinatra so fucking depressing? And why does all his music sound like Christmas music? Or Disney cartoon music?

I am definately not a Sinatra fan. That whole 50's crooner/Broadway age of music that New York seemed to be steeped in just rubs me wrong. I really don't like it at all.

Favourite songs: In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning.... I guess

Least favourite songs: I Get Along Without You Very Well, I See Your Face Before Me, I'll Be Around, Ill Wind, This Love of Mine.... And others.... Thank Christ that's over.....

Today's album is some late 70's British punk similar to The Clash, The Damned, or The Buzzcocks. Overall, pretty solid.

Least favourite songs: Bombsite Boy

The Fall are a British Post-punk band. This is an odd album for sure, but not necessarily terrible, just different. Dudes vocal delivery reminds me of Gord Downie by times. The almost sung-spoken word. Even has a bit of a B-52s vibe to it.

Favourite songs: Rollin' Dany, Vixen, My New House, Cruiser's Creek, Barmy, Couldn't Get Ahead

Least favourite songs: L.A., I Am Damo Suzuki

Rated 4/10

This is a really fuckin weird one. Early krautrock/ambient electronica. The first song (Krautrock) is 11 minutes long and nothing really happens in it at all. It's like psychadelic rock passed through spacey electronica filters. Same vein as Kraftwerk, but much, much shittier, and less upbeat. Closer to those Einsturzende Neubauten lads.

Favourite songs: Krautrock

Least favourite songs: The Sad Skinhead, Just a Second (Starts Like That!), "Picnic on a Frozen River, Deuxieme Tableux"

Rated 10/10

Really solid early punk. Not The Clash's best album, but an important one in the history of the genre.

Favourite songs: Protex Blue, White Riot, Career Opportunities, I'm So Bored With the U.S.A., 48 Hours, London's Burning, Deny, Police & Thieves

Least favourite songs: Garageland

Hands down the best Costello album I've listened to thus far. He really embraced the power pop genre for this one moreso than the weird ass new wave horseshit he did later in his career.

Favourite songs: Pump it Up, (I Don't Want to Go to) Chelsea, Lipstick Vogue, The Beat, You Belong to Me, No Action, Living in Paradise

Least favourite songs: Night Rally

Holy fuck, what a surprise this was! Dudes are from Mali, and they call this genre of music Desert blues. It has their traditional African music mixed with blues. It's fucking amazing

Dudes formed in Bamako after being forced to leave their homes in Timbuktu due to civil conflicts and the imposition of Sharia law. In 2012 the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad took control of the North of Mali. In turn, they were pushed out by Ansar Dine, a jihadist group which banned cigarettes, alcohol, and music. The guitarist, Garba Toure was forced to leave his home and moved to Bamako. Together with the other members of the band, they formed to "recreate the lost ambience of the North and make all the refugees relive those northern songs" There is a documentary called They Will Have to Kill Us First in which they are featured as one of the primary subjects of the film.

... And we think we have it bad sometimes! ..... Fuckin hell of a story!! I can't imagine being told that I can't listen to music. What a sad and horrible life that would be! Props to these dudes for finding a way to make the music they love! This album is amazing!!

Favourite songs: Soubour, Nick, Al Hassidi Terei, Al Tchere Bele, Irganda, Sekou Oumarou, Jolie, Petit Metier, Wayei, Desert Melodie, Mali

Interesting musical theory if you plan on learning how to play the sitar, but for a record I need to hear... I don't think I needed to hear this one. The music is ok in it, but not my favorite. Interestingly, I had his nephew, Ananda Shankar for an album a few days ago.

Favourite songs: Dadra

Least favourite songs: Maru-Bihag

I dig Kraftwerk's stuff. It's really chill. Definately influenced electronica and industrial bands that came later. Also of note: I reviewed an album by Afrika Bambaataa a while back that had a song on it called Planet Rock. That song features samples of Kraftwerk's song Trans-Europe Express. These aren't traditional samples, however, as DJ and producer Arthur Baker met with Afrika Bambaataa and decided that instead of just playing a recording of the Kraftwerk tune, they would recreate it. This was done without Kraftwerk's permission, so the band approached the record label, and got royalties awarded to them for sales of the single.

Favourite songs: Showroom Dummies, Trans-Europe Express, Metal on Metal, Abzug, Europe Endless

Least favourite songs: Endless Endless

4/5

Britpop/indie pop similar to Oasis or Suede. Not too bad at all.

Favourite songs: Glory Days, The Fear, I'm A Man, Sylvia, Party Hard, Help the Aged, A Little Soul

Least favourite songs: Seductive Barry Dishes, This is Hardcore, The Day After the Revolution

4/5

This double album is out there. Very psychadelic, with two 13+ minute, Acid induced songs on the record. The hits are high, but it feels like a lot of filler in the middle. Jimi was a master of his craft, there's no question, I just had a hard time maintaining focus through the never ending guitar solos and ambling song structure.

Favourite songs: Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Crosstown Traffic, All Along the Watchtower, Come On (Let the Good Times Roll), Long Hot Summer Night

Least favourite songs: "Still Raining, Still Dreaming", Little Miss Strange

4/5 because it is so Infamous, and has influenced so much.
