Man, what is this singer trying to do with his voice? Otherwise, a pretty average effort. Not sure why this album is included on this list.

The collaborations distract from JLH’s strengths, to my ear. Not bad, just not great either.

One of the greatest albums by one of the greatest bands = 5 stars.

One or two sitar songs is fine, but an album gets old.

Fun, varied sound. I was nodding my head along to this one all the way through. You can hear a ton of different influences. Solid jangle pop sound, especially for 1982.

Back to Life is a pretty solid track, but the rest was pretty dull. If I could have gone back in time, I'd tell the producer that they should feature Caron Wheeler on every track, and no track should be longer than 3:30.
Rated 6/10
Mixed feelings about this one. There are some definite moments of fun and creativity. Other times, it feels like they're just a pretty good cover band.

I had this one when it was new. Super fun beats all the way through.
I had never heard of this one before. Man, lots of long tracks of just noise. What little coherence there was didn't really find a groove. Better than many other albums on this list, but still not that great.
Rated 6/10
Foreshadowing of better things to come for this band. I can't believe the best song on this album 'Seven Seas of Rhye' was buried as the final track.
Rated 6/10
Hard to argue with the musicianship on this one. No particularly memorable songs on this album though. Check out 'Eleven Long Years' by Us3 for an excellent sample from 'Rikki Don't Lose That Number".
Rated 2/10
This whole album is pretty much a worthless Beatles rip-off. Maybe you had to be there, I don't know. The only interesting track is 'Zilch', which is used as a sample in a much better hip hop song (Mistadobalina) by Del the Funky Homosapien.
Rated 6/10
The humpty dance is a party classic that I can still go word for word. The rest is just ok early 90s hip hop. Not great, not bad.
Rated 6/10
I'm a Who fan, but this one isn't my favorite. Skits and bands shouldn't mix.
Rated 4/10
Fun to hear some vintage synth work, but ambient is not really my thing.
Rated 2/10
Couldn’t get this one on my streaming service. I know some of their later stuff, but not this album.
Rated 2/10
Man, I just don’t get noise rock. It’s hard for me to think of this as music.
Couldn't get this on my streaming service, but I know Coleman's stuff. Too bad, I like the source material.
Rated 6/10
Fun vibe, but probably not something I’d come back to.
Rated 8/10
Beautiful album. One of these things first is a highlight.
