Holy cow this was delightful. Not for the faint of heart but the interplay between rhythms, odd timing, and variety of effects mean you hear something new on every listen.

This album brought an industrial rock feel in some parts, other songs more dreamy and airy, and some songs that leaned into the dance/electronica style. Overall thought it was very good. Broken Man was the favorite track.

It was just ok. Really a little out there and some parts that just dragged on. I guess you have to be in a certain state of mind to get the most out of this one.

This was really good and caused me to revisit other albums by the artist. Dreamy and sweeps you away in some parts, other parts that are more engaging.

Great album, always expertly produced and put together, sweeping songs and harmonies, some of the most interesting music to come out of the early 2000s indie scene.

Very enjoyable, smooth, funky, definitely has some elements that date it such as the synth sounds used, another one that sounds like an opening montage to an 80s rom com (the opening track While You See a Change particularly). Overall this is excellent to listen to and easy to get lost in.

I suppose if this is the sort of music you are into, then it's probably top-tier. Not for me, 'Jah the Seventh Seal' was a particularly tedious track. Why do all of these electronica albums have to be double albums and run close to two hours ::crying emoji::

I enjoyed this quite a bit. I wonder why I didn’t hear it when it was released, they didn’t seem to break through the airwaves. Feels like a fairly standard sound of the era, and I can hear a lot of influence from Sonic Youth, other of the early Alt acts, and even felt a little Beatles on 5-4=Unity.

A lot of modern country influence in this one I feel like, which is interesting since based on reading about the artist, it seems like the goal is to push back on some of the up-and-coming Nashville sound. I found the lyrics to be a bit repetitive as well, just not much on here to grab me. West Texas waltz was one of the better tunes on there.

This was a bit of an epic listening to some of the songs, with storytelling to dig into and sweeping arrangements. Certainly over the top in some places. I struggled with the production in some places where the orchestral parts would seem to rise up and take over the vocals. It was an interesting listen and a valiant effort.

There are some really nice parts to this album. The vibrato in the voice takes a little getting used to, especially in the more fragile songs, but it grows on me particularly in the stronger songs. Emotional and heartfelt album, Fistfull of Love was a great track.

It's just a genre and a style that I don't really care for. Listening to 'Von Dutch' as I type this, and it's just so repetitive. Too much of an electronica, dance-pop album for my tastes. I appreciate the relevance, there is a lot of appeal, but not for me.

Didn’t care for this one. Musically it’s ok, lyrically it’s not compelling to me. Eh.
