The description of John Grants music on Spotify immediately made me feel apprehensive about listening to this album. It did not sound appealing at all. About halfway through the second song I was absolutely hooked and in love. This album is a true masterpiece

Janelle has a beautiful voice but her early albums are all disappointing. I hope the next iteration of this list drops this album and replaces it with the Age of Pleasure. THAT is an amazing album that you should listen to instead.

This album is influential and iconic enough for 5 stars but it is ultimately a 4.5 due to a few songs that are just downright awful. You have an otherworldy song like While My Guitar Gently Weeps (the bassbline alone is an eargasm) and Helter Skelter (the godfather of hard rock) but then you have Wild Honey Pie (pretty sure this song would be used as elevator music in hell)

I dont care much for Young's voice. I was sure id end up hating this album. First track met my low expectations. Then white line played and i was blown away by how much i enjoyed it. Then fuckin up played and i enjoyed it more. I was confused and amazed. Not every track resounded with me eventually, but im shocked i found a lot of good stuff in here. Still dont care much for Young's voice but thats ok. Solid album.

Starts off with an amazing 20 minute epic but then the rest of the album is compromised of sub 4 minute songs that dont go anywhere or build off of the first track. Had so much potential but fails to deliver

Album is not engaging enough for its nearly 2 hour length. Has some absolutely amazing songs but also has lots of boring songs that dont hold your attention. A 2 hour album is fine but you need to keep the listener engaged throughout. If the album were split into 2 albums, they each would've been a 3-4 for me
