After a long dry spell, another great album has made it onto my version of the list. Here, too, I'm impressed by how much extraordinary music can be found on a debut album. Dazed and Confused is one of my all-time favorite songs. I found the story behind it all the more exciting when I heard the original by Jake Holmes for the first time. In fact, I think his version is even better than the cover. I also find the rather tragic story of Jake Holmes touching. 5/5

Rated 2/10

I gave it a try. The "music" didn't bother me as much as other hip-hop does. But I couldn't bring myself to listen to more than the first two tracks. 1/5

My goodness, what refined boredom. The music is catchy, harmonious, quite pleasant, but after a while also so boring. I won't be listening to this again. 3/5

DamagedBlack Flag

Rated 4/10

Actually, I quite like listening to punk from time to time. And this album also started off just as you would imagine good old British punk to be, even if it comes from an American band. Loud, aggressive, fast, unmelodic. And although the tracks are quite short, as they should be, they got on my nerves after a while. I don't think I'll even listen to this album. 2/6

InfectedThe The

Rated 6/10

The The was mixed into my daily stream by my music provider. I liked the tracks quite a bit, so I remembered the name not only because of its memorable brevity. I was excited about the album. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. It's okay, but nothing more. Too bad. 3/5

I had almost forgotten Station to Station. But that was exactly what I listened to alongside Heroes in my early youth by David Bowie. Who still remembers "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo" (We Children from Bahnhof Zoo)? Still a great album that I will listen to again and again, but not that often. 4/5

FragileYes

Rated 6/10

This is the second Yes album for me in this project. And just like last time, I still can't really get into their music. I like the genre. In some ways, the music reminds me a lot of Genesis, a band I love. But still, I can't get into Yes' music. And that was also the case with this album. 3/5

This is now the fifth album by this musician, who I think is totally overrated. If I'm not mistaken, I still have two more to go. Actually, it didn't annoy me as much as I thought it would. However, I lost patience with him, so I didn't listen to the whole thing. 2/5

This is actually the first hip-hop album that I've enjoyed listening to for a while, at least. However, after about 45 minutes (still impressive!), it started to get on my nerves. I won't be listening to it again anytime soon, but at least I didn't feel the urge to turn it off immediately. 3/5

FaithGeorge Michael

Rated 6/10

I always found George Michael a bit clingy and his music too poppy. It's nice to listen to now and then. I don't switch off when his music is playing, but I don't necessarily seek it out either. I feel the same way about this album. 3/5

The genre description for the album put me off at first. But it was supposed to include soul, so I thought I'd give it a try. The best thing about the album is that it's not hip-hop. Other than that, the album wasn't unpleasant, but it was surprisingly boring. I probably won't listen to it again anytime soon. 3/5

I only had a vague memory of Kings of Leon. Then I noticed two songs that I had heard before and really liked. I also found the intro to the first song very promising. Unfortunately, the album as a whole couldn't live up to the very good first impression. But maybe I'll give it another listen. 4/5

After reading the reviews, I was expecting something powerful and amazing. Had I missed something? Well, the album was okay. The intro to the first track was great, in particular. But it didn't really grab me. In that respect, I was a little disappointed. 3/5

This is Rufus Wainwright's second album on this list. I didn't like the vocals or arrangements throughout the entire album. In the end, I was glad when it was over. I don't think I'll be listening to this album again anytime soon. 3/5

Rated 2/10

No, I still don't like hip-hop. At least I heard some parts that might interest me when I flipped through the album. But those were rather exceptions. I had no interest in listening to it more closely. 1/5

I've been listening to PJ Harvey for quite some time now. She regularly appears in my stream, which is how I became aware of her. So far, I've liked everything I've heard from her. However, nothing from this album has really stuck with me. It's okay, but not outstanding. 4/5

Unfortunately, I could only listen to two tracks from the album, as my streaming service didn't have any more. But that's enough for a first impression. What I heard was quite interesting. It reminded me a little of the Oriental rock/pop music I hear blaring from some open car windows here. I find that quite amusing at times, but after a while it becomes a bit strange. So I won't be making an effort to listen to more of the album or the band. 3/5
