Today it's easy again. Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells is one of my all-time favorites. I heard the music for the first time as a 14-year-old teenager and was thrilled. As a 15 year old, I then bought the boxed set of 4 albums. I spent a lot of my pocket money on it back then, even though I desperately needed it for gasoline and cigarettes. This album was my favorite of the collection at first. It took me a while to get into Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn and Callaboration. It was only very late that I found out that Tubular Bells was also the theme music to the film The Excorcist. I didn't like Mike Oldfield's later albums (i.e. after Boxed) nearly as much. Especially the pop stuff he did together with his sister I find highly uninteresting today. I also found the follow-up Tubular Bells X (with X >= 2) really boring. In this respect, I had already given up on Mike Oldfield and occasionally listened to Tubular Bells again. Then, more by chance, I came across the album Amarok, the poisened farewell gift to Virgin. Back to Tubular Bells, the album deserves to be in this canon of 1001 albums more than many others.

I like Tom Waits. I like his smoky, boozy voice. I like his music. I don't like the album. It may have been a recording of a great live performance. If you weren't there, his introductions to the tracks are simply too long. That bloats the whole album to over an hour. And it's not worth it.

A great album. It's surprising how innovative the Beatlrs were at the time. I was delighted to hear many well-known hits again.

I've listened to New Order before. Back then, I was really into wave, electronic and gothic music. In the meantime, my taste has changed somewhat. I was able to listen to the album well. It didn't bother me, but it didn't excite me either. I probably won't listen to it again.

I enjoyed listening to 'Lazy Sunday' again after a long time. Beyond that, I found the album rather boring. I probably won't listen to it again.

The second Elton John album I've listened to as part of this project. And again I'm quite taken with it. I had already forgotten the piece "Tiny Dancer". It was nice to hear it again. I think I will listen to this album again. Will I become a fan of Elton John? Probably not, but I will probably give up my previously rather negative attitude.

The album reminds me a lot of wave and especially of the 'Neue Deutsche Welle' at the beginning of the 80s. I think I've heard something similar from DAF, Extrabreit and early gothic bands. It was interesting to hear something like that again. But that's enough for now.

I don't really like country music. To my surprise, I didn't like this album that much. I probably won't listen to it again, but for this time I found it quite interesting.

I liked the album a lot. At first I also had the impression that David Bowie wasn't quite at the top of his game anymore. There were also many disappointed voices about the album. As the album progressed, however, I noticed the high quality of the album. It was probably not his best and most impressive work. That is also difficult to judge with such a dazzling creator. But, even if I like other albums better, it's a very good album.

Of course I knew the album. The cover is great and a justifiably widespread meme. In fact, I've never heard the album in its entirety, only individual tracks. It was worth catching up now.

Jacques Brel may be a very good and important chanson singer. If I remember correctly, I also like one or two of his songs. I think the track Amsterdam is one of them. However, I can't do much with the live version of the album. I have also realized that chansons are obviously not my preferred music genre. It joins the rap, country and hip hop genres that I have avoided.
As I read in another comment, I can live very well without having heard this album.

I had fond memories of the Dead Kennedys. However, I must have forgotten how punky they are. This is particularly evident on this album. It's definitely fun at a wild party in between. Right now it is too exhausting for me.

I liked the album surprisingly well. The 80s were sometimes terrible. The smooth jazz was quite nice. However, the album as a whole didn't excite me enough to make me want to listen to it more often, even though individual tracks are very nice.

Somehow I don't get on with Talking Heads anymore. This album didn't inspire me either. I didn't listen to it in its entirety. The voice reminded me of my favorite piece of the band, Psycho Killer. I quite liked the track Life During Wartime. But that didn't persuade me to listen to the rest.

I quite like the music. I particularly liked What's Going On, Mercy Mercy Me and Inner City Blues. But I probably wasn't in the right mood when I heard it. In this respect, the rating is worse than it might have been at another time.

The music is part of the soundtrack of my early youth. I like to listen to Neil Young from time to time for this sentimental reason. I found this album rather boring. Only Down By The River was nice to listen to again.
