Hip-hop isn't music. Gangsta rap certainly isn't. 1/5

Awful. That must be high art. In any case, the album really got on my nerves. I couldn't bring myself to listen to it all the way through. 1/5

A great album by The Cure. I was a fan of the band even before my goth phase, and I still am, even though I’ve pretty much moved on from the genre. This album may have been groundbreaking for goth music, but you don’t hear much about it. In that sense, I think it remains timeless. 5/5

Donovan was a bit before my time. Still, in my peace-loving hippie circle, Donovan’s music was played over and over again. Back then, I was more of a rocker—I owned a real, slightly souped-up moped—but the hippies had the prettier girls. And so I kept hearing their music. It was perfect for sit-ins and could be strummed out easily and without much skill around a campfire. And that’s exactly what this album sounds like. Nice, simple, and cheesy melodies that are either perfect for humming along to or for being disgusted by—and can be forgotten immediately afterward. I won’t be going out of my way to listen to this again. 2/5

When the album came out, I even went to a concert on the accompanying tour. Tina had an impressive stage presence. It was a great concert. I’ve only just now listened to the entire album. Tina had a great voice, and there are a few tracks on the album that I love listening to over and over again. The others, however, don’t particularly impress me. 4/5

The band's name says it all. And even though their music is still a moderate take on their genre, I just can't get into it. To me, it sounds like noise punctuated by technical glitches in the sound system. No, I don't enjoy it at all. I didn't finish listening to the album. I just couldn't stand it anymore. 2/5

Taylor Swift is certainly a phenomenon. She makes solid pop music. The attention and popularity she receives are self-perpetuating. Her music is so watered-down and streamlined that it slips effortlessly through your ears into your brain and leaves again without any resistance. The aftertaste is like a bad perfume: sweet, cloying, and slightly repulsive. I don’t like Taylor Swift. I don’t like her music. As I played through the album, I was startled to realize how many of her songs I know. However, I also noticed that I don’t miss any of them. I’m not going to make a conscious effort to listen to her music anymore. Still, I’d be giving her too much attention if I didn’t acknowledge the quality of her music. 3/5

An exciting album. I thought I'd heard music by this band before. At least the name sounded familiar. I'm going to give it another listen. 4/5

Surprising. I was expecting to hear boring electro-pop. Actually, I really liked a few tracks, especially the song “The Bogus Man.” I’ll definitely listen to that one again. I don’t think that applies to the rest of the album, though. 3/5

That was fun, even if the sound was a little flat. Still, I won't be listening to this album again anytime soon. 3/5

Back in the '80s, that was definitely very innovative. I hadn't heard of the band back then. Some of the songs still work well and are a lot of fun. The whole thing sounds pretty punk. I also like the saxophone. But I don't like the singer's voice. It always sounds a bit strained and tortured. So I probably won't listen to the album again. 3/5

Those were some really powerful rhythms and great music. It was fun. However, I can't listen to that kind of music too often—it gets on my nerves and makes me anxious. 4/5

This album predates my first serious exposure to Genesis. It wasn’t until later that I came to appreciate the band’s older albums. This album was popular among my friends’ older siblings. However, aside from the song “Carpet Crawler,” I couldn’t really get into it. Now I’ve listened to the entire album intentionally for the first time. I found the beginning—or rather, a large part of the first album—a bit difficult to get into. I got along much better with the second album. I’ll definitely listen to it again. 5/5

I like all the genres and styles attributed to this album. I was really interested in black ska with funk. Unfortunately, the album didn't live up to my high expectations. I liked some of the tracks, but often they got on my nerves. I won't be listening to this again anytime soon. 3/5

I came across PJ Harvey at some point in the automatically generated stream from my music streaming service. I thought the songs of hers I heard there were great. Her voice is powerful, and the music is remarkable. This is now her second album in this project. I found parts of it pretty exhausting. I’ll definitely keep listening to PJ Harvey, but I don’t think I’ll go out of my way to listen to this album again. 3/5

Except for one or two tracks and against my expectations, I actually liked the album quite a bit. Still, I don't feel the urge to listen to it more often. It was okay. 3/5

Actually, this is the kind of music I really like. I don't have a problem with repetition or the length of the songs. Here, though, the drum machines quickly started to get on my nerves. At some point, I couldn't stand the singer's voice anymore either. I was glad when I could switch back to other music. 2/5

I wasn't sure anymore if I still knew the album in its entirety. But as soon as the first notes played, the whole album came back to me. I've been a fan of the band since "One Step Beyond." And this album has been in my collection for a long time, too. “Our House” was played a little too often on my local radio station and now feels a bit overplayed. But since I’ve been streaming more these days, I hear the song less often and I’m starting to like it again. It’s a shame that this is the band’s only album on the list. 5/5

I discovered Joy Division when I was still going through my goth phase. Yeah, that’s how some bands sounded back then, and I liked it. These days, though, this genre doesn’t really do much for me anymore, and I find this album in particular rather lackluster. I probably won’t listen to it again. 3/5
This is actually one of The Kinks' albums that I liked a little better. It won't be among my top favorites, but I enjoyed listening to it. Maybe I'll listen to it again. 3/5
