Super suave music to smoke weed and bang your best bro to. Definitely a boys only feel to it all, like a fishing trip.

If you like this music, you're either a hipster or in a nursing home.

Great prog rock here, and it's nice to hear the genre still going strong...but this does sound a bit too much like. I mean, I love Yes, but come on. As you can probably tell by the title of this album, the music deals a lot with pastoral and pagan-esque themes.

This Norwegian band crafts technically proficient and impressive soundscapes. It's good to hear some more recent bands not afraid to be unapologetically prog, for the genre is endless, like classical, to explore. There's a mashing of a lot of prog influences here, but the band adds their own experimental rock touches.

Some people say these genres are dead, but engaging, interesting albums like this are still being released. The British hegemony is no longer dominant, but places like Norway are still exploring what these rich genres have to yield.
Rated 8/10
Another excellent prog rock offering, more interesting because it’s from the 21st century, especially when the longer tracks are separated by shorter tracks with more of an acoustic Renaissance feel.

This guy's eyelashes are too blond to be singing this way.

throat punch
Slow-moving, monumental modern classical full of pathos. Always a soothing listen if you're anxious. Always comforting if you are uncertain.
This album is held together only by gossamer strings of piano, violin, and harp with an occasional bassoon and French horn. Not to be listened to if you’re going to have any conversation or be doing anything to take your attention away from this quiet, soothing, healing album.

Hilarious! Bruce always turning me on to the worst/best shit. Outsider stuff right here.

It's funny for the first two or three tracks, but the shtick wears thin quickly.

This is basically opera music, with all the passion and storytelling of an epic. It’s hard to think of anything to say about this film score because, well, it’s Star Wars. It’s as ingrained into the cultural consciousness as anything. This film score has everything: triumph and terror, delicacy and introspection, anthems and arias. I recommend to anyone who is a fan of orchestral music to listen to this film score and just approach it as music, not as part of the film we all know.

This is his best release. Only this and are any good; the rest of his discography is garbage. But country music as a genre is all the richer for these two albums. This one is a pure country gem, and Hank III doesn't get better than the slow, haunting, spine-chilling "Angel of Sin". Hank sings a lot about the Devil. I think he's met him, and the meeting left an indelible mark on Hank.

Hank III trades a bit too much on his name, but it's a great name. He sounds a lot like his grandfather, that same high country whine in his voice lending him an air of authenticity. He's also got pill problems like his old granddad had. This is updated outcast country.
Unlike A New Hope, this music, other than the Skywalker theme and the Imperial March, isn’t anchored to the film as much in my mind, so I’m able to enjoy it more as an epic, sprawling orchestral piece than just as a film score.
Rated 8/10
All the pathos without any emotional manipulation. A superb film score.

Soul jazz Hammond organ chops that include flourishes of R&B and gospel. Though this doesn't 'wow' me like the more out-there and experimental music in my collection, there is everything groovy and cool about this recording, five of six of the tracks being Willette originals. This is the kind of music that'll make you feel better about yourself for having listened to and enjoyed it. Quite the pick-me-up!

Very good for monging out to. A lot of flirtation with quasi-traditional influences all wrapped up in an electronic canvas. An interesting sound to have played in your room at night with the faerie lights on. It'd really complete the chill out vibe. This is a long album, so only listen to this if you're in for a long haul, one with deep choral vocals to put you in a meditative mood.

This is one of the best examples I can think of of an album that is at its core so sad yet sounds so happy. Every time I hear this album, I feel a little older than the mere passage of time should make me feel. So much spirit is spent on this album--themes of internal falling apart, relationship disintegration, dreams of murder, meaninglessness. Smiling on the outside, dead on the inside. Summerteeth shining after a session with candyfloss.
