Less interesting than when Kylie gets involved.

Riot girrrrl punk. Well executed, without being obviously different from their late 70s peers.

Enjoyable, if not "Whip It" enjoyable.

It was OK I guess. I bet that there are hundreds of better example of the genre though.

Ah, the legend that is Mr Smith. The Cure were never my absolute stone-cold favourites, but I've never had to "reach for the dial" to turn them off immediately either. Heavy on the bass and soaring keys - "Pictures of You" is the absolute stand out here.
Although it does make me want to sit in a basement and drink absinthe and that's not always a good thing.
Anyone else think this list is a little heavy on the "white dudes do R&B / rock". Sadly, other bands (a) did it better and (b) didn't have Rod's voice ruining everything.

Yes, yes, yes - I know I'm doing music wrong. But this BORES ME TO TEARS. Undoubtedly one of the most significant acts of my 20s but did absolutely nothing for me. Gets a bonus star for the video to "I Just Don't Know....." though.

The sound of a very horny man singing pub rock whilst suffering from the worlds most painful bowel movement.
10/10 - no notes.

Eh?

Though I was familiar with all the possible folk pop combos from the mid-late 60s, so when this popped in my feed, I was underwhelmed.
But where has this been my life to-date? Glorious harmonies and strings in abundance if that's your bag. One of the greatest ever? In a way, it feels like it can't be, because it's not better know. But I am then just guilty of giving in to "if it's popular, it must be good". 4-and-a-half stars, with a very reluctant rounding down because it didn't quite hit in the way that my very favourite albums do.

Legendary. Hard to listen to objectively as I know it well and love it and, even though it was released several years before I was born, it somehow still captures an age of believe and possibility and progression. Unlike whatever *this* is right now.
Rated 4/10
Acceptably average modern country.

OK I guess.

Like. As a white kid in suburban small town UK, this did not reach me at the time (I think only the cool big city kids were allowed to "get into" hip-hop). But this is very clearly a fantastic piece of work, even if it's not aimed at me or my experiences.

Hee hee hee hee = KISS are so silly. Some solid tracks here, but let's be honest, it's the theatre of it all that made them as huge as Simmons tongue. But, that said, music can be incredibly serious at times rather than just FUN and I am here for the fun.

Love The Sugarcubes. An extra star automatically for being from a mysterious land of lava, ice and rocket strength coffee. Take the mid-80s post-punk indie movement, add some remote barren rock vibes and sprinkle with the elfin delight of Bjork's vocals. Only came to them "later", but what a great album. Maybe not quite the full 5, but will happily listen to again

Neil Young is a grumpy old sort isn't he? Capable of both the most brilliant gorgeous rock and then, at the same time, like he's listened to Jagger's solo career and thought "YES, the world needs more of this"
2 stars, plus 1 because I felt bad only giving Neil 2 stars and he'd probably get the arse with me.

Am really quite enjoying the exposure to genres that I simply wouldn't have been aware of or noticed "back-in-day".
Do I love it more than REMs "Out of Time", well, no. But is it a well put together jazzy / funky slice of hip-hop. Very much so.

Chore indeed. Would be revolutionary if Lou Reed hadn't already done it 25 years earlier.

Vocals are disturbingly like "Fall Out Boy".
