Stevie Wonder number 4!!!
And in 4th place I'm sorry to report. :(
Just really like his funky stuff SO MUCH MORE than the love ballads. This album is a little less thoughtful than the ones that come after. "Boogie On" and the "You Haven't Done Nothin'" are SO GOOD it makes up for a lot.

I'm learning to appreciate soul more as I get older. I'm still not huge on the overly sappy lyrics, but the instrumentals are gorgeous and lush, and the vocals themselves are really pleasant to listen to.

When I die im donating my eyes to Stevie Wonder 🙏

This is Stevie's *seventeenth* album!? Good golly.

It starts off with a sudden burst of easy listening. Which is better than hard listening. Kind of like when one of your Sims turns on the radio and it blasts that Simlish pop. I liked it a lot more than I expected.

Highlights: 'Creepin'', 'Bird of Beauty'

I was blown away by this. It makes me excited to listen to the other Stevie albums. What a genius.

Rated 6/10

Not bad, but mostly faded into the background. I did really like They Won't Go When I Go, but the rest just wasn't that memorable.

Rated 6/10

I'm somewhat of a Stevie agnostic; I recognize his immense talent and influence, and I do love some of his music, but he'll likely never be an all-time favorite. This record in particular is just a bit too smooth for my tastes.

It's Stevie Wonder, so of course it is extremely solid, with a lot of fun experimentation specifically on this album that laid the groundwork for Songs In the Key of Life. It can feel a tad safe when it wants to be, and that doesn't allow the album to surpass any other Wonder album that I've heard, but this is assuredly a good time.

As much as I’d like to be a fan, I think Stevie just isn’t for me.

Rated 10/10

Brilliant. 10/10.

Rated 8/10

Hard not to like Stevie, especially in this era. This isn't the strongest of his albums from this time, but it's still pretty great.

Rated 4/10

Songs wie “Creepin’” und “They Won’t Go When I Go” ändern auch nichts an diesem Urteil.

Rated 10/10

Honestly, this album is wasted on me this morning. I'm in a terrible, distracted, stressed, and lovesick mood so its hard to let one of Stevie's masterpieces sink in. Creepin' is sort of a song that I know I like I just don't feel like listening to it right now. They Won't Go When I Go is more my speed today. Bird Of Beauty immediately has my attention. Maybe by the end of Please Don't Go, I'm feeling better. which is a good sign.

Rated 6/10

A really good album. A few songs were plagued by some preachy bits, and "They Won't Go When I Go" would have been a much stronger close, but generally not bad. 3/5.

Rated 6/10

Not really for me. Didn't like this as much as Talking Book. Wonder can sing, but I just don't care about it.

Rated 10/10

pop perfection.

Rated 2/10

Well that settles it, I am not a Stevie Wonder fan. This is the second album I’ve had of his on this list and again it did nothing for me. Some of the more upbeat tunes are kind of fun, like Boogie On, but even that one I got bored of after 45 seconds. Most of his songs on this album are slow ballads and they are capital B BORING!
