A crime that this is not in the main list. A million thanks to the submitter for adding one of my favorite albums of all time.
Rated 6/10
Like Hole, but better. The Breeders are a collaboration of Pixies bassist Kim Deal, and Throwing Muses guitarist Tanya Donelly. It's like 90's alt rock mixed with touches of surfer rock, pop, and grunge. Not bad.
Favourite songs: Cannonball, Drivin' On 9, Flipside, S.O.S., I Just Wanna Get Along, Invisible Man, New Year
Least favourite songs: No Aloha, Roi, Mad Lucas

At the start of my generator journey I was looking at all of the albums on the list (can only not be curious what's all on there for so long) and thought that it was weird there was no albums by the Breeders on the main list. However, having listened to a few of their records at this point, I kind of get why they were left behind. The group have some fantastic hits, some of which are on this very album, and Kim Deal deserves all the credit in the world, but none of their albums feel especially special. They have the staying power with their hits to make this album something alright, but nothing here makes it an amazing ALBUM. Obviously, the main list has albums with this same issue (See: Britney Spears) but this makes me just realize that the Breeders are a band worth being known of, but none of their albums are the blow the listener away extravaganza that a lot of their contemporaries are. Still, No Aloha is a perfect song, and is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

This is one of if not the first album I think of when I think of 90s alt rock. It's iconic and the fact that it isn't on the main list is wild.
Rated 4/10
bland and totally missable.

Why isn't this on the original list? It seems like such a major omission, and it just feels like because The Breeders weren't angry like Hole or Garbage they got a bit buried beneath an increasingly tedious pile of grunge and alt-rock.
Which totally fucking sucks. Kim Deal's voice is heartbreaking, at once girlish and innocent but able to crank it up when required. She takes the Pixies' oblique but entertaining lyrics and earworm riffs into more mysterious, feminine territory.
Also, caught them live last summer (my son's first ever proper gig!) and they were so ridiculously happy and entertaining.

Great 90’s alt rock record which is clearly missing from the original list. Up there with the pixies best albums, but just not quite a masterpiece in my eyes.

The Real Deal.
