Z

I don't have a whole lot to say about Z. It's mid-00s indie rock/pop and it's fine, some of the songs towards the end have a bit of country twang to them. I think the album is at its most interesting when it ventures into the psychedelic and proggy side, but these tracks are few and far between.

I don't get the appeal.... No one needs to hear an indie rock jam band....

I had their live album Okonokos before, and hated it (because it was 2hrs long and was a live album). Having no exposure to the band, a live album.... especially one that long... is not the best way to introduce yourself to them. That said, I was hoping that a studio album by them would be better (especially since most of the suggested bands on Spotify are similar to bands I regularly listen to). That hope was smashed with today's album. This is marginally better than that live album, but not by much. I just really don't like the singers voice (he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket). Not for me...

I've listened to this album before and liked it, and this was no different. It's a good album. Great? Not quite, but good isn't bad at all!

Didn't really grab me on the first listen. The album started cycling again and I found it a bit more enjoyable the 2nd time. 3.5 stars, not quite a 4.

I kinda thought My Morning Jacket would be one of those bands I thought was just okay, with a hit here and there that I love (shout out One Big Holiday) but this was pretty good.

The album starts off so strong that I don't even care it falls off quickly. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it after their live album failed to move me
