Love me some Van Morrison.
Rated 4/10
Another live album! But with cuts taken from 3 shows (in 3 different theatres) across 3 months, which is sort of cheating. He's somehow at the top of his game and still deathly dull - a tricky feat to pull off!

The best stuff on here is like Credence doing astral weeks covers. Those songs are great, but the live performance doesn't bring much to them. The majority of it sounds like Van Morrison doing Credence covers though, and it's god awful. The choogle levels are through the roof.
I'm curious what the case for including this one is - some live albums are definitive releases either from bands that weren't great in the studio or where live improvisation is central to the music (grateful dead, Allman brothers, lots of jazz), or canonical recordings that're essentially high energy greatest hits collections from singles artists that capture their live talent and charisma in a unique way (James Brown, Al Green), or breakout commercial hits (cheap trick, Peter Frampton)
but this is just worse versions of songs that at best show he could sing well.

Incredible presence, unstoppable energy
Rated 1/10
This is a very unfair 1, but it is november 7 2024, what I need is some good wallowing music, and this is doing so poorly at getting the job done that i’m furious with it
Rated 6/10
Whenever I listen to live albums, I just imagine the applause is for me doing the inane nonsense that I'm doing, like loading the dishwasher. This one is pretty good though.
Rated 6/10
Ihan kelpo livelevy ja onhan Morrisonilla paljon hyviä biisejä.
Rated 2/10
I'm a bit torn with this one. I really don't think live albums should have been included on this list at all, especially when the artist has studio albums included. Having said that, this is incredible well performed and recorded. However, it is way too long. I could have done without all the covers. Overall a 3 in normal terms, but shouldn't be in the book.
Rated 4/10
Considering the amount of terrible white "soul" singers from the British isles, he's probably the best, but man I just can't listen to his grating voice that long. 4 sides of a record is 3 too many.
Rated 8/10
Another surprising live album banger

A very good live album!!

This list does not need a Văn Morrison live album. Astral Weeks, that's your lot, boomers.
Rated 4/10
So. Fucking. Tedious. It’s ok, I guess, but I don’t get the hype. And a double album? It’s too much. No thank you.
Rated 6/10
The first half of this is really bluesy and not for me. The more straightahead soul funk grooves are more my speed, like I've Been Working. Best live album ever recorded? not on your life. Have you heard Vulfpeck's Live at Madison Square Garden? Even Live at the Budokan.

THIS ALBUM IS LOOOOOOOOOONG
Rated 6/10
Rated 2/10
Nothing to see here. Basic, run of the mill, exactly what you'd expect barely-rock.
1.0/5.0: Embarrassing
Rated 6/10
Great sounding band with some great songs. I particularly like the live version of Gloria and was looking forward to getting to it as i went through the album.
Being a double album I found it quiet long and repetative after a while. I got to the point where I was excited for this album to end.
Not one I would listen to again but I can appreciate some good songs and a great voice.
Favourite song: these dreams of you & st domonics preview.
Least favourite song: There was nothing not to like, just lots of repitiion. Some songs like listen to the lion inside of me are just long and tedious.
Album artwork: Great cover for a live album.
Rated 6/10
I’m not a fan of live albums or double albums. So straight away I’m needing convinced with this one.
Actually as far as live albums go this is pretty good, I still think it’s too long though, but enjoyed this blues covers too. Too long to add to my frequent rotation but deserves to be on the list.
Rated 4/10
I definitely didn't need this to be a double album. I listened to about two thirds of it and had my fill. Band is undeniably very tight, the performance is good, but it doesn't really stir me.
