This is quite the exquisite example of chamber jazz from the veteran duo Carla Bley and Steve Swallow (aged 83 and 79, respectively, at the time of recording) and their longtime collaborator Andy Sheppard (62).
These three suites are defined above all by the serene calm that permeates the performances. This trio truly had nothing left to prove, and it shows. It also demonstrates once again that Bley remains a gifted composer. The synergy is wonderful; these musicians were so perfectly in tune with one another.

Some of it was nice sounds, The first Life Goes On, some of it I didn't care for, like the improv around the American patriotic song motif in Beautiful telephone 3. Will not revisit.

Really good modern jazz album, I liked this.

Jazz that i don't understand but do like

A trio of instruments that'd be at home playing live music for a fancy lounge somewhere. Fundamentally pleasant, cozy.
