I mean a few really good ones and before he went nutso... Solid features from JayZ and others as well.
Rated 10/10
It’s probably the best production I’ve ever heard on an album but I will forever die on the hill that The College Dropout is his best album…

Power: *chef's kiss*
All of the Lights: *chef's kiss*
Everything else: meh.
That's the simplest way I can describe this.

Better than Coldplay

There are a couple artists that, for one reason or another, I flat out refuse to listen to. Kanye West is one. I will not be listening to this record and don't feel bad about giving it a 1/5 without listening. Fuck Kanye West.
Rated 4/10
This was ok, but I never was a huge fan of him. Nowadays, I am the exact opposite of a fan of this guy. But this album was ok.
Rated 6/10
I didn’t want to like this album because of the new Kanye, but unfortunately the old Kanye made a good album.
Rated 10/10

boring blowhard stuff

I have such a complicated relationship with this album. Like, I actually think it's really well done, the lyrics are kinda cringe from time to time. But it's really good. But it's Kanye.
Rated 8/10
Have to separate the art from the artist for this one. The definition of a big album. Very ambitious and tons of features. The sampling is amazing too. My only issue is some songs overstay a bit.
Rated 10/10
Every song is so powerful, so composed. The features are all deliberate, and the album's flow from song to song thoughtfully presented (although "Christian Dior Denim Flow" should have replaced "Blame Game" 100%). A reasonable contender for greatest hip hop album of all time. "Runaway" is my all-time favorite, but this re-listen solidified that "Monster" is one of his greatest songs across his career
Rated 2/10
Hip hop is not music. And from Kanye West to boot. I have no desire to listen to shit from a black Nazi. Adidas was right to finally part ways with him. I won't even enter into a liaison with him. That may be prejudiced. But sometimes I don't feel like sniffing at every pile, only to realize that it's shit after all. There's only one mandatory star in the drawer where Kanye West is. 1/5
Rated 6/10
I can completely compartmentalise my personal feelings about an artist away from how I feel about their music.
So with that in mind, while he may be an absolute dick, I really am loving this. In fact, more than other rap albums I have heard. It actually feels very retro 90s rap and I think the vocals in the background in every track lift it to a new glorious dimension.
Rated 8/10
Can't stand the person, can't deny the talent.
Rated 6/10
Fantano was lowkey right on his scoring. This album's quality drops off a cliff after All Of The Light and it doesnt really bounce back despite trying on some tracks.
Given how Ye's obssession with porn and delusions of grandeurs have gotten worse, it almos feels like he was foreshadowing his own current demise, but if anything, it doesn't make the album any better, moreso it servers as merely the cutting off point from his peak to his fall from grace. Important record, but nevertheless inconsistent.
Rated 2/10
Hahahaha hahahaha! Nope. Get in the bin you freak. Annual leave request from this monolithic undertaking has been put in.
Rated 8/10
I think the beginning of this album is fantastic; I really dig pretty much everything up to and including "Monster". After that, it's a bit shakier for me, and I certainly start to feel the length. I suppose my only hot take is that, while I love the outro of "Runaway", I'm not a huge fan otherwise. I respect some of the sincerity of the verses, but the chorus totally takes me out of it. I certainly don't see myself rushing to listen to it again any time soon, but in time, I think it could potentially rise in my estimations.

There are some underrated bangers on this one, like POWER and Lost In The World. His production and samples are on point - I especially liked the King Crimson one.
It doesn't get a 5 because the quality isn't really consistent through out. Couple of duds in there
