I like how big and bold and varied this is. There's lots of layers of instruments, different styles being thrown around, theatrical elements, lots of pomp and sass. I like that something like this exists. It's quite confidently out there without being obnoxious, which (after listening to a lot of other albums in this list) I know can be a tricky thing to pull off.
3.5 rounded down.

Really enjoyed this one, maybe more than I should, yeah the lyrics are a bit cheesy and crass but it’s really just a good fun album, clearly influenced a lot of punk, and even some hair metal.

What a fun presentation of an ecclectic mix of music. Rock hard

There are elements and songs here I like (“Swampsnake”) in particular, but it’s not coming together all the way for me. Interested to see how I feel if I ever revisit it.

I'd never heard of this band or album before, but I quite enjoyed it
Didn't like "next" but there were some songs I really liked and added to my playlist! "Gang bang" and "swampsnake" were highlights

I just can't do glam rock. This one is admittedly better than most. I don't outright hate it but it also isn't something I'd really ever listen to.
Rated 4/10
Not really a fan of this. The music wasn't bad, but I wasn't a fan of the vocals sometimes and the song writing--mainly the lyrics--was stupid. Vambo Marble Eye was pretty good, but the rest could be forgotten in my opinion. 2/5

Love it. Theatrical Glaswegian prog punk. A true one off
Rated 2/10
Really dislike this album. I know it has a cult following of some kind, but it rubs me entirely the wrong way. I don’t like 70s hard rock at all.
Rated 6/10
What a confusing album this is. there are some great rock and roll songs on this album and then some real dross and there are only 7 songs on the album. I was really not a fan of next.
The opening 3 tracks are great. I love Faith healer and gang bang. Then the album goes a little downhill.
I will be downloading this and listening to it again.
Favourite song: Gang bang

The Last of The Teenage Idol“
Rated 6/10
Alex Harvey is definately at the forefront of the punk movement. This was a weird record. There's a song about gang bangs, and another about a horse named Ding Dong, but it's actually a metaphor for his cock. A third song documents how the military paid for soldiers to use a brothel, and he ended up catching gonorrhea. Apparently Nick Cave started his music career in an Alex Harvey cover band. It's like blues rock and hard rock mixed.

Olipa hyvä uus tuttavuus! Erityisesti avausraita huikea. 4/5

"Gang Bang" is kind of horrible, and some of this is a bit cheesy, but the rest of this is gleeful and enjoyable. Swaggering operatic glam rock with a hard edge, and you can feel its influence on what came next.
Rated 8/10
You hear the same craziness Zappa and The Mothers Of Invention displayed, with the same sometimes crude lyrics, but musically a little more punk-avant-la-lettre, combined with hard- and bluesrock in the mix.
An artist that influenced quite a few of my musical heroes, so I'm glad to have finally listened to this album, and it was surprisingly awesome.

Brb. I need a shower.

Really, really wild. Had just heard of Alex Harvey for the first time on a recent podcast. Just super wild and on the strange side of glam. Nothing that I would prefer to come back to though. 2/5

WTF cacophonous bullshit did I just listen to 1/5

This is a very silly album. Gangbang is a very silly song. Giggy Up A Ding Dong features a keys solo that sounds like a child's keyboard. This record is like if you took an ACDC record, slammed it into a Sabbath record, and then made it listen to a Queen record or two. It is a really weird listen. The stereo fuckery at the end is poorly done.
Rated 10/10
Brilliant, loud, punky, glaswegian, noisy, funny, awesome, clever, innovative, exciting and intense.
One of my favourite bands, and possibly their best album.
