A terrific debut album from Harris. Not a bad song on here. Some slower ones that I won’t listen to often but I’d definitely return to this.

standard, but very good, country. her version of Dolly's Coat of Many Colours isn't as good, but Boulder to Birmingham is a cracker. The sort of thing my dad and grandad would have loved
Rated 6/10
Ihan kelpo kantrilevy tämäkin. Coat of Many Colors on kuultu useiden esittämänä, ja hieno kappale on kyllä yhä.
Rated 6/10
Solid chill country album. Not something I see myself going back to all that much. Favorite songs were Bluebird Wine, If I Could Only Win Your Love, Coat Of Many Colors, and Queen of The Silver Dollar

I love Emmylou. I wish she did more originals. She's done some iconic covers but also didn't have much to add to, for example, the Beatles original work. Bluebird Wine is a banger though.

Country und Western Album mit sympathischer Frauenstimme. Man fühlt sich mitten nach Cheyenne versetzt wo an einem
Lauen Sommerabend Musik auf der Marktplatzbühne spielt. Die Songs sind gut interessant arrangiert. Gut sind „Boulder To Birmingham“, das Beatles Cover „For No One“ und als typischer Country-Song „Queen Of The Dollar”.

3.08 per track. Good classic country!

I don't like this whining, moaning kind of country music.
Rated 8/10
Incredible voice and some great songs. A bit by the numbers for me musically sometimes, but room to rise in my estimations.

Lovely voice. Unsure how I feel about an album full of cover songs, (with the exception of "Boulder to Birmingham"). "Coat of Many Colors" sticks out, mostly because my mum loves that song. I struggled with The Beatles cover.
Rated 4/10
A country music album of covers, didn’t have high hopes for this one. Emmylou does have a nice voice, but this won’t convert me to be a country fan.
Rated 4/10
Not really my cup of tea. I found her voice a bit grating and many of the songs too similar. But I can appreciate why this is on the list.
Rated 8/10
Great one. Beautiful voice.

Emmylou Harris' style of music is country folk. It sounds like a female John Denver. Her voice is beautiful. She does a fantastic job of covering Dolly Parton's song Coat of Many Colors.
Overall, a fantastic album. Perfect for a lazy Sunday.
Favourite songs: Queen of the Silver Dollar, Bluebird Wine, Bottle Let Me Down, Coat of Many Colors, Hank and Lefty, California Cotton Fields, Boulder to Birmingham, If I Could Only Win Your Love,
Least favourite songs: Sleepless Nights, For No One

Amazing voice with very decent songs
Rated 2/10
Way too country for me and I really hate how a lot of these older country albums are just credited to the performer but most of the songs were written by other people. That should auto-disqualify an album from here in my opinion.
Rated 4/10
Blah blah, excellent voice, but can the music actually be interesting? Put a guitar teang here, a generic country music sound here, throw in an okay Beatles song, and let's top it off with a Shel Silverstein poem for good measure. Just weird, but at least it's short, and I don't dislike everything here, I just wish someone in the country music genre realized they all sounded like each other.
Rated 8/10
I'm here for this song Bluebird Wine. It's kind of amazing that this is an album of almost all covers, but it's counted as a debut. Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down is a fun one. Queen Of The Silver Dollar is solid. The bonus tracks are killer.

One of my favourite country albums so far on this list. Harris’s voice gave goosebumps on at least a few occasions.
