Great album :) I loved the really full guitar parts and the lyrics are meaningful and their voices are great.

This album flowers together much better than the first one. It's still not incredible, but it was good enough, haha.

Just so meh. 60s sounds washing over my ears

I like the Byrds later stuff and I like folk rock in general, but this album feels undercooked to me. They needed to make this album to get a foot in the door, but I don't think they were ready for prime time yet. Three years later, different story.

i’ve always found the devotion to dylan, right down to the title, odd and a little lame. but the sound is there, no doubt, even if i like bob’s versions better than theirs. gene’s originals were good, boys. should have filled this up with more of those. he’s always been my favorite byrd.

It's fine. Second song was really good. Bit distracted while listening.

When the only memorable song on your album is a cover that’s not a good thing.
Rated 6/10
I’m sure tons of bands have done it, but I’ve always found it kind of weird that they named their album after a Bob Dylan cover. Almost feels inauthentic, like they’re trying to ride Dylan’s coattails. It doesn’t help that this album actually does sound a bit like they’re trying to sound like the Beatles and Bob Dylan at the same time. I would honestly prefer listening to either of the others, but overall this was still an enjoyable listen. I think I actually liked this one a bit more than the last Byrds album I got from the list.
Not sure if there really needs to be this many Byrds albums on the list, though.

Listen guys. There are some good songs here. But like four Dylan covers might be pushing it. And the original Mr Tambourine Man is way better. Favorites were I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better, All I Really Want To Do, Chimes Of Freedom, and We’ll Meet Again.

Great Sound, very Beatles, lots of fun

Chill old-school pop

Me ha gustado más por recordarme a los músicos que se inspiran en ellos que por ellos mismos. Me refiero a que me han recordado a Johnny Marr o a Billy Bragg. Me he guardado en favoritos: Mr. Tambourine man, I'll feel a whole lot better y Don't doubt yourself, babe.

I've come to appreciate the Byrds and David Crosby over the course of this challenge, but apart from the first 2 songs, this doesn't do much for me. Granted, I was already quite familiar with both of those, but still. I recognized the importance of this one, but still think the Byrds' legacy is over represented in this book.

Better than Coldplay.
Rated 4/10
It sounds like the Monkeys, or the Beach Boys. It’s awful.
Rated 8/10
Kinda fun, retro sound and liked it a surprising amount…maybe because the jangle DNA is infused in REM and various alt country.
Rated 6/10
The vocals are pretty, but flaccid. The jangly guitar grates after awhile. It’s harmless but also not all that interesting.
Rated 8/10
Poppier than the later stuff but in a good way. It definitely reminds me of early Beatles, in that it's just very fun.
Rated 6/10
metade das música são cover de BOB DYLAN versão rockzinho sessentista. bizarro. no mais, as originais deles são normais, meia boca.
Rated 8/10
Fifth Dimension and The Notorious Byrd Brothers have grown on me a decent bit, but I still feel pretty similarly about this one. Some very good stuff, especially “I’ll Feel a Whole Lot Better”, but I’m not the biggest McGuinn fan and this one is particularly McGuinn-heavy. I think Side B is also a bit of a drag, especially the awful “All I Really Want to Do” cover. “Chimes of Freedom” redeems it a bit, though, even though I’ll still take the version with all the words over this one any day.
