Lemmy’s a legend … but after Ace of Spades it’s just the same song 11 times right?
Rated 8/10
My thoughts about metal can be summarized as "nah I don't really like it - well except for Motörhead of course." Maybe it's because this is closer to punk than to a lot of other metal? This is good relentless noisy fun. R.I.P. Lemmy. (Ignore the lyrics if possible.)

The Good: We get to play poker!
The Bad: It turns out it is Lemmy who get’s to poke her…
The Ugly: The fucking mole…
Ace of Spades, what a way to start the day.
Somehow the version of this album that I listened to include a second disc with live versions of the album… can’t say I hated listening to it…
This album is a must listen to all those who say that metal sucks…
Rock n Roll mothafuckers!!!

YES. I haven't listened to this in a long time, and this is reminding me that I need to add this album to my library.

Es ist Motörhead in Reinform: laut, dreckig, kompromisslos. Der Titeltrack ist ein unsterbliches Geschoss, aber das restliche Album rauscht oft eher als es wirklich packt. Roh, energisch, aber auch etwas eintönig.

I don't like this as much as I should. Driving bass, good riffs, lyrics about fucking.
A bit boring though.

I can take or leave Motorhead – whilst I recognise their status as a classic band in the speed metal/heavy metal pantheon, I feel they are a singles band at best and I don't really like Lemmy's vocals. Revisiting this album has done little to alter my opinion, as I feel the second half is a marked drop-off in quality from the highlights of the first. The vocals quickly began to grate and tracks began feeling like lesser imitations of a similar formula.

Ace of Spades is ein Banger. Rest des Albums fetzt auch. Geil
Edit: Ich habe nun den Text vom Song Jailbait gelesen :-(
Rated 6/10
Not quite sure about the song "Jailbait and I just can't wait". Maybe that one could have been left on the cutting room floor rather darlings. It's a cohesive album (some may call samey) which is mostly nice and easy to listen to. Doesn't outstay it's welcome

Frenetic, ferocious, and unapologetically brash. This record demands that play it as loud as possible. Favorite track: Ace of Spades

Monster opener. The rest feels a like a lot of the same. All pretty good, but it starts to all blend together.

Rock on!
Rated 6/10
The music on this album was fast-paced, early metal. The riffs were quite electric. The guitar solos were plenty and the drums were rapid. The lyrics in some of the songs were creepy, though ("Jailbait", for instance). My parents used to listen to this kind of music frequently (I do remember hearing some of these songs in my childhood). I'm not super into it, but it was spirited overall.

Yeah, no.

Punk Rock. And if you like that one note that Lemmy “sings” you’ll love this. Oh yeah it has Ace of Spades.
Rated 6/10
Lemmy is an icon, part of the definition of a rockstar. The song Ace Of Spades is iconic, one of the best songs of the genre. The rest of the album is ok, lyrics are kinda bad, but it's still an iconic sound. Lemmy's voice is always recognizable.

Great. Now I can only picture John Turturro painting a black hallway. Thanks a lot, Severance.
Rated 4/10
Starts to albums dont get much better than Ace of Spades, the urgency of those opening guitars leading to Lemmy’s unmistakable growl.
Unfortunately the album as a whole is a bit one note and feels very repetitive. Yes the guitars are great, but Lemmy’s limitations are really evident the more you get into the album.
The least said about Jailbait the better. Yes, times were different, but the lyrics acknowledge that Mr Kilminster knows it is wrong even then.
The title track aside this is all just a bit dull

Look, it's fun, but it also felt like listening to a single 36 minute song: variety was not its strong suit. Lemmy had a great rock voice though.
I saw They Might Be Giants in Nottingham, UK last year and as well as taking the piss out of the massive number of vape shops there, they seemed very impressed that a bust of Lemmy, containing his ashes, was somewhere in the venue with them. They sadly didn't play a cover.
I think I'm back wishing for half stars again, but as I don't have access to them, it's getting a 2 instead of a 2.5.
Rated 10/10
I saw Motorhead at Glastonbury and my overriding memory was Lemmy addressing the crowd: “You like rock n roll don’t ya? Say yes goddammit!” before tearing into another blistering song.
This is what this record is. It has a singular vision to just rock your socks off, and it does it so well. Kicking straight off with Ace of Spades is a real sign of intent, but it holds up for the whole album. Really great, fast-paced, driving rhythms, excellent guitar work and hard solos, and a voice of rough leather and pure attitude over the top.
4.5 rounded up.
