Great album, lots of hits, some classic folk and some more powerful songs as well.

Rated 8/10

First time I've heard anything from Neil Young. I was expecting something very stripped-back and minimal. And that was my impression for the first few minutes of the album. But once "A Man Needs A Maid" came in...oh my goodness. That beautiful, lush orchestra. And then later on in the album, when The Needle surprises you with thunderous audience applause, cutting straight to one of the few electric jams on the record. The production on this thing is immaculate, despite presenting itself as so toned down.

Harvest actually sounds quite a bit like the album cover. The font itself is flashy and detailed, but outside of that, there is almost no color or any frills at all. The album, both sonically and visually, is exactly what it needs to be and not a bit more. For that, I really appreciate Harvest.

I'm really not excited to have to listen to 3 more of this guy's albums (ignoring the collabs). Neil is a good folk musician but I unfortunately don't like folk. I do appreciate that he's from TRONNO

Rated 8/10

I mean, it's just a classic. Heart of Gold and Old Man are some of the best songs ever written but the whole album is gold. Out on the Weekend is great along with Alabama and The Needle and the Damage is Done.

Couple songs I'm not huge on like Harvest and A Man Needs A Maid (don't really care for the orchestra, still don't in There's A World).

But still a great record.

A Man Needs a Maid and There's a World drags it down to a 3.

Neil Young is one of those artists I've absolutely, utterly failed to connect with or appreciate on any level. We're talking about four decades of me going "ugh" every time I hear one of his songs.

So I tried to go into this with an open mind, I really did, but... Ugh. Too slow, too melancholy, too folk/country.

I just don't like Neil Young.

Rated 6/10

Harvest is quite the good album if i do say so myself. The album mostly either had songs that heavily utilized a soft acoustic guitar, ones that used a somewhat heavier guitar (those ones were my favorites by the way), and ones with a more whimsical sounding style. Young's vocals were solid as well, with me remembering the vocals from Old Man being sampled in a Redlight King song with the same name (even if they aren't sampled there, they still sound eerily similar). The album also never really had a bad song which is a major plus. This is a pretty solid album that's well worth a listen.
Best Song: Alabama
Worst Song: There's a World

Absolute classic. Love Neil Young and this album has some of his biggest hits, including my favorite NY song (Old Man).
