The hits are awesome but the rest is meh
Also sounds a bit samey
Rated 8/10
Der er virkelig mange sange som har været på repeat på alle radiokanaler. Men der er godt nok også noget lort hist og her på den her plade - Speed Demon & Liberian girl sutter virkeligt 😅
Rated 4/10
It’s very well made and I dig the title track, but it’s just not my thing.

First time listening to an MJ album as a whole, have only heard some of his songs here and there.
I don't really love this synthetized sound, but I can understand how this can stand out in 80s pop. All feels very manufactured except for MJ's voice, which if it were autotuned would sound robotic like everything else in the album. Maybe it's this particular usage of drum machines that is just unenjoyable to me.
2* for one of the best sellers of all time. Just doesn't stand out to me. Not bad enough for a 1* because MJ's singing is great but not something I'd pop in again to get 3*.
Standout tracks: man in the mirror, smooth criminal
Zero judgement based on MJ as a person when judging this album.

The hits are hits. The rest is meh. I did like "Librarian Girl".
Rated 6/10
There are absolutely great songs on here like Smooth Criminal, and I cannot deny that, but everything here feels incredibly aged, for mostly worse, and the fact that the best song (Leave Me Alone) isn't even on the original track listening is kind of the final straw that makes this album feel incredibly mediocre. 2.5, round up to a 3.

Also the sound of the drum machine is super irritating. A very tinny drum machine. Iberian girl? WTF is this song! In general: so many added noises it's almost chaotic. And how many times is he gonna do that high pitched squeak noise? The ones I know from the 80s radio of my past are tolerable.
Rated 6/10
Surprisingly Mid. I was hyped to have an MJ album come up on this, but wasn't really into Bad.
Rated 6/10
One of the greatest songs of all time is on this album. I'll let you guess what one I'm referring to.

Memorable primary school joke - Q. "Why did Michael Jackson call his album Bad" A. "Because he couldn't spell terrible"
Clearly, it's not terrible, but for one of the biggest selling albums of all time, it's not amazing either. Smooth Criminal is a banger, but that aside, there's a lot of over-engineered generic 80s pop here.

Heee-heeeee!
My overriding memory of this album is from listening to it as a (roughly) 6-7 year old. My brother had it on cassette, and I remember us playing it while jumping up and down on our beds together. Fun times!
A lot of these songs do sound dated now, but you can't deny MJ is a really talented song-writer. There's some great songs on here and the hit ratio is really high.
3.5 / 5 rounded down.

I'm BAD
Rated 10/10
Great album, from a pretty terrible person, who had a really difficult life. Judging purely on the music, hard not to give a great score! Man in the mirror and dirty Diana probably my favourite, although any song featuring Stevie Wonder is also good.
Rated 10/10
Buncha all-time great songs on here; a sound that shows its age, basically because it defined the age
Rated 8/10
Michael Jackson made some impeccable pop music at his peak. He seemed to define the sound of the 80s while only putting out two albums within the decade. While I may not enjoy this as much as Thriller, in a way I feel it's more consistent as an album.
Rated 8/10
Not a Michael Jackson fan, but this is a really good album, with some absolute classic songs. Off the wall, Thriller then Bad you can see why Michael Jackson was the biggest act on the planet with that run of three albums.
Rated 2/10
cero. le tengo manía y creo que trae mala suerte escucharlo.
Rated 8/10
It's almost impossible to follow up an album like Thriller but I think Jackson did an admirable job at it. I don't like Bad quite as much but it's still a great album.
Rated 8/10
I remember liking this a lot more than I ended up. I thought before listening that this was an instant 5, but there are 3 or 4 songs in the middle that I just didn't remember that they're just meh. But the singles are such bangers, and the fact that this was one of the first albums I considered "mine" when I was a kid, still has a soft space in my heart!
Rated 6/10
Man! Looking back on this album, there is so much cringe-worthy content. After listening to the track "Bad" and then "Speed Demon", I couldn't help but feel like this whole album was going to be like scrolling through r/IAmVeryBadAss.
Seriously, all I could think about while I was listening to "Liberian Girl" was the scene in "40 year old virgin" where the main character was (falsely) talking about all the experience he had with girls. "Just like in the movies" - ha!
Jokes aside though, the album is still undeniably good. My personal favorite is "Leave Me Alone", and there are many other that are great listening and chalk full of nostalgia for me.
I guess what makes the album hard for me, hence the lower rating, is it's a bit much to take in one sitting. A ton of great singles, but I need a break between most songs to wash the synthesized taste of my mouth.
