This was a kind of bubbly pop rock album that was enjoyable, but rather short. I looked it over all. 3.5/5

Today we have a classic power pop/new wave album by the Go-Go's. Drawing influence by the likes of Blondie and The Ramones, the Go-Go's really brought pop and punk together into a super accessible package.
There is a noticeable difference between their sound on this album, and their live stuff because their record producer told them to slow down while in the recording studio. They didn't abide by this when playing live though, playing louder and faster, sounding closer to punk than pop.
Overall, an excellent album today, and one that absolutely sounds of the era (80's). Thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. Before today, the only songs I knew were We Got The Beat, and Our Lips Are Sealed. There are some hidden gems on this album for sure!
Favourite songs: We Got The Beat, Our Lips Are Sealed, How Much More, You Can't Walk In Your Sleep (If You Can't Sleep)
Least favourite songs: Automatic

Very enjoyable album! I only knew the two singles going into it, but there are several other brilliant tracks on here. I especially like the drumming throughout. Can really see the influence this would have had on other acts later on in the 80s.

Soild 80s album
Rated 8/10
This is just great poppy new wave, under which lingers a dark layer of punk, which is completely in line with their origins in late 1970s LA.
Lyrically also certainly much more interesting than the bubblegum from that time. After 3 listens I'm ranking this album up there. Will listen to this a few more times in the near future, but starting this off with a 4*

This is really great. I love the group vocals and the slick mix of bubblegum pop with new wave/punk.

This one is a big hit in our house. Love the melodic basslines and sing-along choruses. Catchy stuff.

I was already familiar with this album, not saying it's a masterpiece, but still enjoyed re-listening. 3.5

Our lips our sealed is great, and we got the beat is a ton of fun. Those are the only two songs I recognized. I feel like most of the album felt a little lacking, could have used more varied musical elements. Still a solid pop album

Surprisingly good. Appreciate that they were a huge pop sensation that wrote all their own songs. 3.5/5

fun - great girl band album
Rated 8/10
The bass is in your face, the drums are fast, and the guitar lines are hooky. The vocals are distinctive. This is an album genetically engineered to get a high score from me. I like the harmony on Lust To Love. They Got The Beat is still a fun song, even if it was drilled into me from guitar hero. A great album I had fun all the way through.

Good, but not great. Doesn't sound like a band who sprung from friends seeing a Sex Pistols concert! Our lips are sealed and automatic were my favourite tracks, but plenty of others were good too.

Strong Blondie-vibes!

¿La banda original de Belinda Carlisle? Primera noticia. 11 canciones y 35 minutos para conocerlas. Me ha gustado, me ha recordado a la guitarra de Johnny Marr algunas veces y a The Pipettes otras. How much more, We got the beat, You can't walk in your sleep y Can't stop the world.
