Best cover they ever did. (Not the best album though)
Rated 6/10
I listened to this album twice and I don't really have anything to say about it.
Rated 4/10
Title track is cool, rest is just alright
Rated 10/10
5 stars because of the album cover.
Rated 8/10
I really liked this album, would likely spin this again. However, that album cover is so edge lord

It’s a strange sensation to listen to a thoroughly likeable album with a consistently enjoyable vibe, but not be able to just lose myself in it. It might be Bryan Ferry’s vocals that are holding me back, but there’s a lot to enjoy. Out Of The Blue has one of the nicest twistiest bass lines I’ve ever heard. There’s a whip crack propulsion to this song. I also love how tender Ferry sounds on the intro to Bitter Sweet and how a touching, mournful guitar occasionally wraps around him.

Like many people my age, I have bought albums based on ONE single and have been terribly disappointed because that's the only decent track on the album.
This is the kind of album that younger me (fuck it; me today) would buy based on the cover art. The difference between this album and the former is that there's at least one track on the album I liked.
While very much suited for elevators, I don't think I could bring myself to trap people in a box and force this on them if I owned an elevator. This album kinda sucks

My relationship with Roxy Music and their music has always been a little divided. Just as I am with the music of Brian Eno. Of course I knew the cover of the album. Now I've heard it for the first time. I liked it for the most part. I will listen to it again in more detail. 4/5

All good. Love roxy

I thought it was gonna be better

Bryan Ferry sounds good on the first track!?! sort of like a knockoff bowie sound on this record. Bitter Sweet is where this album hits a brick wall. Why oh lord is there a sousaphone here? The whole thing is pretty tolerable otherwise.
Rated 10/10
Damn, somehow I made it into my early forties before listening to this album. It's right up my alley - energetic, experimenting with stylistic differences between tracks while remaining recognizably coherent as the same band. The production is excellent.
Some albums I can't finish before I react to them. This album got added to my Tidal library after four tracks. Album and listener were perfectly matched today.

Naja, war ok.

5 for the Cover.

This album was made in 1974? Jesus this album feel incredibly ahead of its time. It wouldn't sound out of place in the 80's I wouldn't think on some songs.
Always meant to listen to it, just never got around to it. Really good stuff, especially the lead song The Thrill of It All.
Edit: Went back to it and relistened, and it's just not hitting me like I remembered? Dunno what it is. Feels weird to go back and downgrade an album that I said I liked previously, but yeah. Also relistened to Roxy Music, but that's at the correct rating already at 2.
Rated 8/10
This is a brilliant album, a genuine 5/5, and one I absolutely wasn’t expecting to give.
It’s the first time I’ve properly listened to a full Roxy Music album, and I was hooked. As soon as it finished, I went straight into Avalon and then followed it up with For Your Pleasure. That says everything.
There’s something incredibly confident about Country Life. It balances art rock experimentation with sharp, melodic songwriting. You can hear how influential it’s been, from the dramatic poise of Morrissey to the darker romanticism of Nick Cave. The glamour, the moodiness, the slightly detached cool, it’s all here.
I loved Prairie Rose, A Really Good Time, All I Want Is You, and Out of the Blue. There are so many strong tracks that the album never dips. It feels cohesive but never dull, stylish without being shallow.
Favourite track: Out of the Blue, brilliant from start to finish. The driving bassline carries it, and the instrumental break in the middle is superb
Least favourite track: Bitter-Sweet, this one didn’t quite click and felt more like atmosphere than a song
Album artwork: Lovely, bold, provocative, and instantly iconic, perfectly matching the album’s confident and slightly decadent feel
Rated 6/10
It's alright.

I sure do love Roxy. This one is far from my favourite though, cans aside.
Interestingly the models are Michael Karoli of Can's girlfriend and sister. Off to listen to Can instead.
Rated 8/10
All sounded exactly the same but lowkey loved it
Rated 10/10
I was always so focused on the first three albums I never got to this one properly but it turns out it is great.
