I like it fine but I sometimes think the wild reception it got on release was down to nobody thinking he had it in him anymore. But truth was this was just a first step towards the genuine masterpiece that is Rough and Rowdy Ways.

I can hear went they hung out with Blue Oyster Cult and the other punks. Beach Boys and 60s garage punk in there too. Great stuff.

One of those albums where you know how the whole thing is going to sound from the first few bars. I don't like that singing style and overall I found it a bit dull.

I'll never understand why so many people love this bland tedious mush. I'd rather hear twelve more Elvis Costello albums than have to listen to the six Radiohead albums on this list again. The music is occasionally ok but mostly preposterous and trying way too hard to be 'innovative'. You can almost hear the musicians grunting like Olympic weightlifters under the pressure. But the singing is on another level of excruciating. Pained and smug at the same time is quite the trick.
I've learned over time not to get into this with my friends. Radiohead fans are everywhere and easily offended 😝
