Rated 4/10

A lot seemed to be missing *something*; boring and uninteresting. 2*
The album cover and "same old show" felt very inappropriate to have at work, had to skip.
Highlights: red alert

Rated 8/10

There's plenty to like in here. Many of the tracks have real energy to them, a sense of fun, and great beats. There's a few dips, but overall it's pretty solid, and there's also a good amount of variation too I think. The singles are still the stand-outs, and the most upbeat, fun ones of the lot. However there were a number of tracks I'd never heard before that were real jams (like Yo Yo).

I remember dancing around like a loon as a kid to Red Alert, blasting it on my TAPE cassette walkman with crappy cloth headphones. One time we had a power-cut for about an hour, and I listened to it on loop about 10 times in a row. Meeemories. Rendez-Vu is where it's at though, what a tune!

3.5 rounded up.

Man I’m just not really into house music. I like a few tracks but overall it’s kind of boring. This album was not an exception. Every song was too long and I get it, they’re long on purpose for like raves or whatever. I love electronic music just not this.

Rated 8/10

Remedy is a really good album. It could just be my affinity for most electronica albums speaking here but the album was filled to the brim with a lot of bangers. Bangers that all managed to sound very different from each other and keep me interested throughout the album's whole runtime. Its absolutely not perfect with songs that could be better if they weren't so noisy but even these noisy songs along with all the other ones never were bad, just songs that i would put lower than the best songs. I just don't know what else to say other than this is just a really fun album that will likely be staying in my head for a while.
Best Song: Jump N Shout
Worst Song: Don't Give Up

Rated 6/10

House music is the type of music that people get roofied and finger blasted to.

Same Old Show sounds like someone being actively banged on loop for 6 minutes. It's quite annoying.

Favourite songs: Yo Yo, Jump 'N Shout, Red Alert

Least favourite songs: Same Old Show, Always Be There

Rated 6/10

I enjoy the genre, but this was all over the place

Rated 2/10

Kinda annoying. It made me cringe a bit. There is old electronic music that aged well. This ain't it. And even for that period it's not good.

Rated 4/10

A couple of catchy songs on here, but overall I found it bloated and repetitive. I see why it's on the list, and didn't hate it, but it's not as good as their contemporaries like Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, etc.

Rated 4/10

maybe Jazzalude is the best track here

Rated 2/10

Yet another album that doesn't interest me at all. Maybe dance isn't a genre for me either. I like listening to techno or trance. I have no problem with repetitive music. But this simple stomping produced by a rhythm machine is boring. After a few tracks, I finished the whole thing.

Classic of electronica...one of my most listened to albums of that era. First half definitely exceeds second, but all a fun listen. 5/5

Rated 8/10

Something refreshing in a mountain of shit on this list. I was beginning to question if I even like music

Rated 6/10

Not my jam but not bad at all

Rated 10/10

Absolutely classic house. I typically prefer more deep house stuff but as far as the more upbeat, dancey side goes this is impeccable. I love the Latin flavor throughout it.

Rated 4/10

I enjoyed the singles from this when they originally came out, but the album as a whole feels pretty empty and soulless.

Rated 6/10

Received by the press at the time as a dance act of Underworld/Orbital/Chemical Brothers class. But listening back now, this was slightly exaggerated.
It has a few noteworthy tracks, ('Red Alert', 'Rendez Vu') but too much filler to call it a great album

Rated 4/10

Ranges in quality from very good to forgettable to bad. Red Alert and Rendez-vu are bangers. Lots of filler/interlude tracks too.

Rated 1/10

When this first came up, I listened to 30 seconds of it and couldn't be arsed.

Second attempt, I'm struggling to understand why it made the 1001 list, must be quotas for genres.

Certain Basement Jaxx tracks (like Red Alert) are great at the right place at the right time; parties, nightclubs... but this, as an "album", nah!

Rated 8/10

I really enjoyed this. The front half was a barn burner and the back half really settled into a grove. There is an awkward transition point in the middle for a couple songs that I don't love but w/e.

Rated 6/10

Was really into this album and the follow up when it came out, good to listen back today, wouldn’t be one I’ll revisit frequently much better dance albums out their, but for personal reasons
I’m glad it’s within the book 1001 albums before I die, and I got the chance to listen to it again today.
