Surf's Up is probably my favorite of all The Beach Boys albums here. When i first looked at this album's cover art and saw how dark it looked, i thought that this album was gonna sound very dark and depressing and while the lyrical subject matter is a bit dark, it doesn't seem to stray too far from the path that The Beach Boys Today and Pet Sounds follow. The songs here have that very psychedelic sound which was the other main one alongside the one that the Beatles did. I thought that the songs on offer were pretty good even if that last song felt like it was having a bit of an identity crisis. Could it just be the fact that it's the most fresh in my mind, i don't know but i can say its my favorite Beach Boys album that i have heard.
Best Song: A Day In The Life Of A Tree
Worst Song: Surf's Up
Side note: Oh, and since this is my last Beach Boys album, you know what that means:
1. Surf's Up
2. Pet Sounds
3. The Beach Boys Today

DoolittlePixies

Rated 6/10

Doolittle was definitely an enjoyable album but it would easily get surpassed by Bossanova a year later. It definitely does feel like these guys influenced a lot of what The Smashing Pumpkins would go on to do especially with Black Francis having a very similar voice to Billy Corgan and that is one aspect i quite liked alongside the heavy sounding music. There are definitely a lot of really strong tracks on offer but at the same time, there are some pretty lame ones here as well. I still think it went at a decent pace even if not all the songs here were winners. I still definitely had an enjoyable time with this album and would definitely give it a high 3 but i'm just not feeling it the same way i did with Bossanova
Best Song: Gouge Away
Worst Song: Mr. Grieves

Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols was an album that was so good, i didn't even care that every song sounded identical to each other. This is my first album in quite a while that is not electronic and while as much as i like the genre, this album really did feel like a breath of fresh air. So many of the songs on offer remind me so much about what i love about The Saints album Eternally Yours as they both have very similar vibes. The guitar riffs by Steve Jones were always very cool and felt so fun to listen to and Johnny Rotten's vocals were great as well. There isn't really too much i can criticize so all I'll say is its a fantastic album.
Best Song: Anarchy in the U.K.
Worst Song: Pretty Vacant

Well for my 800th album and 5th electronica album in a row. Remain In Light is certainly an album that i have quite a bit to say about. The only song from this album that i was familiar with before listening was Once In A Lifetime especially because i have seen that song used in quite a lot of YouTube Poops and i enjoy that song for it's quirky nature. I also thought the other songs here were interesting in their own ways and coupled with the good production, made it a pretty enjoyable listening experience. My only issue is that nearly every song felt like it was at least a minute too long which made them fairly repetitive. It is still an enjoyable album, just one i would have liked more if it weren't so repetitive.
Best Song: Once In A Lifetime
Worst Song: The Great Curve

Now for my 4th electronica album in a row, Exit Planet Dust has easily got to be the best of them. That electronic style of music that groups like The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers do are always my favorite kind of electronic music (mainly because i am a metalhead and it sounds most like that). The entire album was just a really fun trip of some energetic beats, cool melodies and all sorts of little things that made me wanna keep moving along throughout this album. It did get a little repetitive sometimes but the songs never went on for longer than they should so it was never a huge issue for me. Nothing left i can say, its just a fantastic album that's easily among my top favorites in the genre.
Best Song: In Dust We Trust
Worst Song: Song To The Siren

Geez, this site sure wants me to listen to electronic albums seeing as The Bones Of What You Believe is the third one in a row i have heard these past few days and yeah, it's a great one. I've never really heard any of this band's music but i have frequently heard their name. I mainly like this for the fact that for an electro pop album, it is very deep, layered and complex. This is apparent in mostly the music and the lyrics. Those are the moments where i feel the album was at it's best as the much overly happy sounding stuff, while fine, wasn't this album's strong point. Definitely a really good album that i'm glad i listened to before i died.
Best Song: By The Throat
Worst Song: Gun

OKTalvin Singh

Rated 6/10

OK is definitely a really interesting album. Singh apparently spent nine months of travelling the world to make this album and it shows here as there are plenty of Asian music elements combined with the typical jungle/drum and bass style of music. I can definitely appreciate this album for how well it combines both styles of music and by doing that, it really stands out from the sea of other electronic albums released in the late 1990s. My main issue with this album though is that at many points, it feels like it is just dragging on and on. I definitely feel like if some of these songs got cut down a bit, i would like it more but as it stands, its a cool little curiosity from the 90s.
Best Song: Sutrix
Worst Song: Light

Music Has The Right To Children despite being a really goofy name is a really good electronic album. This album mostly goes with a very trip-hop-esque sound but definitely adds a lot of ideas to make it really unorthodox with one of the comments for one of the songs saying it best (i forgot which one it was) that this sounds like music for computers. This album isn't gonna be for everyone but i can tell that these guys took a risk and it ended up paying off as i really do vibe with the very hypnotic nature of this album and each song had some kind of cool element which made them very enjoyable to listen to. Its an acquired taste for sure but it's also clearly a labor of love and i can absolutely appreciate that.
Best Song: Sixtyten
Worst Song: The Color Of The Fire

DrunkThundercat

Rated 6/10

I thought Drunk was pretty good. For some reason, i thought this album was gonna be way older than it was, i wasn't expecting it to be released in 2017. The music here is pretty interesting having that big R&B sound to it with a bunch of extra touches most being of the hip-hop variety helped keep this album pretty interesting. Now the lyrics are honestly the most interesting part about this album as sometimes, i thought they were quite clever and showed off Thundercat's ability to do satire but other times, i did feel as if they were a bit immature even if that is to be expected from hip-hop like this. It's not amazing but i thought it was a pretty interesting listen.
Best Song: Friend Zone
Worst Song: Captain Stupido

I was honestly surprised by how good Heroes to Zeros was. Apparently this was produced by the band themselves which they think that they did a terrible job at it and an even worse job mixing it to the point where their mixes weren't even used which if they aren't exaggerating was the right call since the poor mixing probably would have brought my opinion of this album down. I did end up enjoying it though, the songs had that nice creative edge to them which made a lot of them really stick out in the best possible ways. I also think i like this more than the last album i did by them due to the lack of flow issues. It's not perfect but it was shockingly very good.
Best Song: Space
Worst Song: Wonderful

LP1FKA twigs

Rated 4/10

LP1 was an album that had good ideas but i feel like they were not executed as well as they could have been. When i first saw this album, i thought it was gonna be an alt rock album by some band but in actuality, it turned out to be a dream pop album by a singular artist (with help from a bunch of others). This album tries to go for this ethereal, dream pop sound kinda similar to Bjork but in my eyes, a lot of these songs are compositionally very odd. Despite the weird compositions, the album as a whole was just very forgettable with me struggling at points to find a favorite and least favorite song. This was an album that had promise but unfortunately fell flat.
Best Song: Numbers
Worst Song: Lights On

And i thought the last album i listened to was weird, Rings Around The World even managed to make that Devo album i listened to yesterday seem normal in comparison. This album feels like a really weird mix of Oasis, Radiohead and Gorillaz with it being a very alt-rock album on the surface but adding in loads of electronic elements to give it something to help it stand out. Unlike the Devo album with that being a mixed bag with it's weirdness, This album's weirdness did nothing but add to how good it was. Every song on offer feels incredibly creative and was an immense joy to listen to. I ended up really enjoying this album.
Best Song: No Sympathy
Worst Song: Miniature
Side Note: I loved that every song here had an accompanying music video and they were all really good

I honestly wonder what i was on when i was listening to Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo because my oh my was this album weird. It always felt like each song was doing at least one thing to give it a very weird vibe through things like certain vocal touches, unorthodox melodies and sounds that really made this stand out. I was kinda mixed on the weirdness as sometimes, it worked pretty well but other times, it got too much. I can easily admit that this is an album that won't be for everyone as it really does a lot of stuff that can be an acquired taste to some. However i still enjoyed it to a mild extent and can see why some people would absolutely get a kick out of this.
Best Song: Shrivel-Up
Worst Song: Mongoloid

The Score is an album that i have pretty mixed feelings on. My mixed feelings go towards pretty much every aspect of this album. In terms of the production and instrumentals, there were points where it was cool and gave the songs a really neat vibe but at other points, it could just be quite boring. The vocals were good in some places, especially Lauryn Hill's vocals but sometimes, the rappers did sound like they were really bored. The lyrics are also pretty mixed here to with them being smart in some areas but dumb in others. This album pretty much just flip-flops between scores so often that i feel like the only score i can give it is a 3.
Best Song: Manifest/Outro
Worst Song: How Many Mics

RepeaterFugazi

Rated 10/10

Aw yeah, I loved Repeater. I have had a pretty interesting relationship with Post-hardcore on this project. There were some bangers but also some stinkers as well. This album though, was easily one of the bangers. This album is also often described as a more aggressive version of Gang Of Four's second album. While i have not heard that album, i have heard the first one, and from that standpoint, i can agree. These guys have a fair bit in common with Gang Of Four but i love this one much more for the heavy guitars and very 90s production which made this album such a fun ride. I could just be a sucker for this type of music but regardless, this album absolutely slapped.
Best Song: Shut the Door
Worst Song: Greed

RamonesRamones

Rated 6/10

Ramones is definitely an album i like but i don't seem to like it as much as i want to. My only real experience with this band is hearing Blitzkrieg Bop everywhere and i can admit that it is a fun song. Everything about this album has a pretty fun energy to it from the music to the vocals, to the lyrics. My issue with this album though is that it is incredibly basic. There just isn't really enough here on offer to really make this album memorable and it kinda fades into the pack with the rest of it's contemporaries. It also doesn't help that all these songs are more or less just versions of Blitzkrieg Bop. I still thought this album was fun, just it could be quite a bit better.
Best Song: Blitzkrieg Bop
Worst Song: Havana Affair

God i hated Alien Lanes. You are telling me that this album was released in 1995?! This sounds like it was recorded in 1965! But that's not the only bad thing about this album. There are also things like the mediocre at best, poor at worst vocals, the incredibly insipid lyrics in some songs and the fact that these songs are way too short and never allow enough time to sink in (that's not something i complain about often with these albums). Its honestly a shame too since i wanted to like this album since it has some good ideas but i just can't deny it, this album is hot garbage and a big reminder why you shouldn't waste the majority of your budget on beer.
Best Song: Little Whirl
Worst Song: Auditorium

Shaka Zulu is an album that i just feel isn't really for me. I have nothing against a capella music, for instance, i really loved TV On The Radio's song Ambulance, but that was mainly because there wasn't really anything on that album that sounded like it. This was nothing but a capella music giving me intense deja vu with that Miriam Makeba album i did a long while back but even more egregious since at least that album had music, this one doesn't have any at all. I will admit that these guys are no doubt good singers but even at 36 minutes, this album felt like it was dragging on and on. I can see why others would like it but it is not my thing at all.
Best Song: Rain, Rain, Beautiful Rain
Worst Song: Yibo Labo

Henry's Dream was definitely on the weirder side of albums on here. I honestly thought that going into it, i was going to hate this album because Nick Cave gets really into what he is singing and i thought that it was just gonna get annoying but i found out that it wasn't very bad. The music here is pretty cool with all the extravagant melodies on offer. I was pretty mixed on the lyrics as sometimes, i thought there were some cool stories that gave me a lot of vibes of that Marty Robbins album i did but at other times, they could get rather stupid. This is definitely an album i have mixed opinions on but i think i enjoyed it overall.
Best Song: Loom of the Land
Worst Song: Papa Won't Leave You, Henry

Chelsea GirlNico

Rated 6/10

I thought that Chelsea Girl was an album that did it's job pretty well. I only really knew Nico from her collaboration with The Velvet Underground on the album named after both of them and i will say this album was better musically than that album was. Like i said, this album had some pretty good music with the main show stealer being the violins as they were really nice sounding. Nico also had a pretty nice voice and the lyrics on offer were also pretty good. I will say that there are some points where the songs were not very well composed and that wasn't fun to listen to but other than that, this album is pretty good.
Best Song: I'll Keep It With Mine
Worst Song: It Was A Pleasure Then
