Endtroducing..... was actually a very good album. It is interesting to see an album that was entirely made up of samples in a very lyric-focused genre like hip hop but this album managed to work with that very well. The beats all felt cool and had a downtempo like ambiance to them which really added to my enjoyment. Even when the songs were long (mainly when they were doing medleys) they were still good even if they did take a while to get to that point. There were also some samples/ideas that didn't work so well but the good heavily outweighed the bad. This is a really good album for what it is.
Best Song: Changeling
Worst Song: Organ Donor

California is yet another one of those albums that is fine albeit unremarkable. Its just another alt rock album from the 80s that wasn't really doing anything to help it stand out from it's many peers. Many of the songs also just tend to copy paste the same exact formula to the point where they just tend to get a bit forgettable. Bad Liquor is one of the more fun tracks seeing as it's one of the few (if not the only one) that deviates from the formula and it manages to still be a pretty good track. That is however only one track and it is pretty short so i would not say it is enough to elevate this album any higher than 3 stars.
Best Song: Bad Liquor
Worst Song: Laughingstock

I wasn't expecting too much from Second Toughest In The Infants because i didn't remember it being too great but man, this album surpassed my expectations and then some. Every song here just manages to feel like the best kinds of electronic music with enough energy to be easy dance club bangers and enough ambiance to feel like you're in a whole new world. The guitars weren't there often but when they were there, they were just so unbelievably well done. It may be a 71 minute long album which may put some people off but in my ears, they made sure to make every second pure bliss.
Best Song: Banstyle / Sappys Curry
Worst Song: Confusion The Waitress

En-TactThe Shamen

Rated 8/10

En-Tact was a pretty surprisingly enjoyable album for what it was. For some reason, i have an odd affinity with this type of weird electronic music and this album really showed me just how much i have it. The beats were super catchy in a lot of the songs and many of them had cool enough elements that i didn't get bored of it, even with a 65 minute runtime. Granted, not all of the songs are perfect as some of them have elements that i just didn't really like which made me wish the album cut them out. There was not a single song i really hated though so this album remains a really good one in my eyes.
Best Song: 666 Edit
Worst Song: Lightspan Soundwave

Pink MoonNick Drake

Rated 7/10

Pink Moon is definitely one of the most relaxing and peaceful albums i have heard. Everything about it just feels so much like i am relaxing underneath a starry sky which kinda fits considering that this album is called pink moon. I think that the main things that help this album be as good as it is are the composition of the songs as well as Nick Drake's vocals being pretty much the main selling points of this album. I guess if i had one issue with this album, it would be that in some places, there is something i don't like with how the guitars sound. A majority of the songs absolutely do get it right though so this album still is able to earn itself a 3.5.
Best Song: Things Behind The Sun
Worst Song: Know

1989Taylor Swift

Rated 6/10

I know you would probably expect me to be very hard on 1989 considering that the person who made it has one of the worst fanbases ever but i don't really think i can since i don't hate this album all too much. Don't get me wrong, its not perfect but i was expecting quite a bit worse. The music, while not something out of the ordinary for contemporary pop, is serviceable and has enough variety. Taylor's vocals were also pretty good as well but the lyrics have a certain cringeiness to them and they cause the songs to feel like they are in a weird order. Its by no means an amazing album but it has enough good elements for it to get a pass from me.
Best Song: Style
Worst Song: Clean

I'm a Lonesome Fugitive is a very middle of the road album, even in it's own genre. It's an album that's not bad but also not great. The music, lyrics, and vocals are serviceable but not very interesting and are pretty much what you would expect from an album like this. There were a few tracks that were better than others but i don't think they were better enough to make a really huge difference. The album is pretty short and does not feel like it is making jarring transitions which are both points in it's favor. This album isn't a bad one but i still think you can do better.
Best Song: If You Want To Be My Woman
Worst Song: Skid Row

Songs Of Leonard Cohen was a pretty good album. The music here did it's job pretty well and even had some cool elements like the little parade like instruments in Sisters of Mercy traveling throughout the audio channels. The songwriting here is also very solid. The main issue i have with this album is the fact that since this is Lenny's first album, It falls into the traps of one as in he didn't have a fully established style yet meaning that the songs here all sound like typical folk songs rather than sounding like Leonard Cohen songs. I still think that this album is good and has it's moments, i just think the later albums are better due to having Lenny's established sound.
Best Song: Sisters of Mercy
Worst Song: Teachers

Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) is not a bad album. When i went into this album, i thought it was going to be an overly-boring slog with weak vocals and weak instrumentation, but I'm glad to say that i was proven wrong for some of that. There were some pretty cool synthy sounds used for some of the songs and they made some pretty good melodies. The songs i also remember sounding boring were actually cooler and more interesting than i thought they would be. Granted, the production is a little iffy in places with some of the instruments greatly overpowering the vocals in some places but i still think that this is a pretty decent album.
Best Song: I Could Give You (A Mirror)
Worst Song: The Walk

Geez, why does this site feel that whenever i get it 1 star album, it has to give me a 5 star one to make up for it. System Of A Down is a very amazing album which has everything i love about nu-metal. It is fast, it is chaotic, it is incredibly weird and yet the guitar riffs are amazing, the vocals work absolutely perfectly with the songs with them being incredibly weird yet adding to the album's immense charm and it also went at the perfect length by having plenty of time for the songs to sink in but still not being overly long. This album is easily a top tier one if i do say so myself.
Best Song: Soil
Worst Song: Peephole

YeezusKanye West

Rated 2/10

Well, this was certainly an interesting time to get Yeezus considering that Kanye is going through his little X crash out but regardless of the kind of person he is, This album is terrible. I can certainly see the idea they were going with in the production, having Daft Punk produce a lot of these tracks, but it kinda gets so overkill that it makes the instrumentals annoying and directionless. But even if the instrumentals are bad, that can be forgiven since hip hop is a more lyric-driven genre right? Wrong! The lyrics here are also incredibly horrendous with Kanye clearly prioritizing wordplay over actually making the lyrics make sense. It's a shame i have to give this album a 1 considering The College Dropout was incredibly good but i have to do it.
Best Song: I'm In It
Worst Song: Bound 2

Stand! is an album i actually really enjoyed. I felt that the first Sly & The Family Stone album i listened to (There's A Riot Goin' On) was good but a little boring as the album could get really samey. This one is a lot better because it does not feel nearly as samey and still had all the cool elements that album did. The songs actually were pretty cool sounding with all the things they did and the lyrics could be a fairly mixed bag ranging from pretty smart to pretty dumb. There were only a few parts i could consider annoying but none of them were ever enough to detract from my enjoyment of this album.
Best Song: Sing a Simple Song
Worst Song: Sex Machine

Lark's Tongues In Aspic is definitely one of the stranger albums i have done for this project, more so than the last King Crimson album i did. It definitely seems that these guys are continuing the trend of combining different music styles but i remember the first King Crimson album i did having jazz elements which this one does not have, instead, picking really weird elements. I'm in an odd situation when it comes to how much i like this album. The guitar playing in a lot of the tracks is cool but the weird elements can definitely get a little too much at points. Its not a bad album, i just prefer In The Court Of The Crimson King to this one.
Best Song: Larks' Tongues In Aspic, Part Two
Worst Song: The Talking Drum

Aha Shake Heartbreak is honestly what i expected from a Kings Of Leon album as in its nothing special but still fairly solid. I have only really heard some of the singles from Kings Of Leon so i always got the impression of them being a band that is a pretty obvious choice for any person to listen to. I still got that from this album, but this album definitely had quite a bit of blues elements which i was expecting and not expecting at the same time for some reason. The songs here are fairly good sounding and while not doing anything all too special or unique, they do their job as well as they can.
Best Song: Slow Night, So Long
Worst Song: Pistol of Fire

Disintegration is another album which doesn't really go above and beyond but is still a pretty solid album. The album never really did anything that i wasn't expecting from an album like this but it still managed to do it well. The songs (especially towards the end) all had a very relaxing and hypnotic feel to them with many elements contributing to this feel which i quite like. The album however, is very samey which can cause it to get a little bit repetitive but the sound of the songs that generally was playing was still always good sounding so it wasn't something i was too angry about. This album is a decent one, I don't love it but i absolutely don't hate it either.
Best Song: Last Dance
Worst Song: Untitled

Siembra is definitely one of the more different albums that i have looked at. I wasn't really expecting to see any salsa music on this project but this album corrected me on that front. That's not to say the album is a bad one. The songs here are decently catchy and definitely scratch that salsa itch if there is one. The songs can tend to get a bit repetitive in some places but the album was short enough to the point where that was not too much of an issue. I still can't seem to get over how much i wasn't really expecting to see an album like this, guess i should have expected it from the salsa tag being there. I still think this album is alright.
Best Song: Maria Lionza
Worst Song: Ojos

Well, we have another weird and wonderful album with Queen Of Denmark. Initially i made an incredibly wrong first assumption about this album and that is that it would be a generic pop folk album which doesn't do a whole lot to stand out from the crowd but i was so very wrong. This album does so much wacky stuff to make it all it's own. Everything from the odd electronic sounds, the wonderful piano playing, the sudden bits of a guitar, and the weird and somewhat offensive lyrics were all odd inclusions which ended up really adding to the album (Okay, maybe the piano wasn't that odd but i don't care). This album was an incredibly nice surprise.
Best Song: Silver Platter Club
Worst Song: Tc & Honeybear

Synchronicity is just an incredibly bizarre album. The sheer 80sness of this album really shines through in nearly every song and makes every song feel like an incredibly bizarre trip. Despite all the quirkiness (actually due to it kinda) I enjoyed this album quite a fair bit. The weird electronic sounds and the vocals really kept the album interesting throughout it's whole runtime and even the weird lyrics helped as well. It is things like this that make this album better than the last album by The Police that i did. This album is just significantly more interesting and had much more memorable tunes than Reggatta De Blanc did. This album is a pretty solid listen.
Best Song: Every Breath You Take
Worst Song: Mother

BostonBoston

Rated 10/10

I don't know if i have any words to say just how amazing Boston is. This album gave me a lot of the same vibes as Rush (It could mostly be due to the fact that this album and 2112 came out the same year and are obviously of the same genre) did and since i loved 2112, it should come as a no brainer that i love this one as well. The songs had such a fun, upbeat and fast paced rhythm to them yet also had such good melodies inside them all as well. I would honestly say that my biggest issue with this album is i just want more of it which should just go to show just how amazing it really is.
Best Song: Foreplay / Long Time
Worst Song: Let Me Take You Home Tonight

So, A friend of mine told me that she believes that Miles Davis' music just sounds like noise, while i don't see that with Birth Of The Cool, Kind Of Blue, or In A Silent Way. I absolutely do see it with Bitches Brew. This album was just so unbelievably noisy with hardly any work done in actually composing any of the songs properly made this album genuinely painful for me to listen to. I would have disliked this album if it were just 30 minutes but it goes the extra mile and adds an hour to that runtime which made me so relieved once it finally came to an end. Miles Davis has made some decent albums before this one so to see him drop the ball this hard is just insane.
Best Song: Sanctuary
Worst Song: Bitches Brew
Side note: Because i have now done every Miles Davis album on this project, here is my ranking of all of them
1. In A Silent Way
2. Kind Of Blue
3. Birth Of The Cool
4. Bitches Brew
