Simultaneously catchy and experimental. It might be fairly tame by today's standards but for the 50s this is so unique. The sax is a major highlight throughout.

Fantastic R&B album. She has a great voice and the instrumentals are smooth as butter. Love Kendrick's feature as well. I'm not really sure it's notable enough to fit on this list but I do really like it.

Catchy 80s synth pop. I was jamming hard. Sure, it feels a bit dated like a lot of 80s stuff, but it's just fun.

Very stripped back, lots of acoustic guitar. This album is a nice change of pace for Bowie with lots of folk influence. Dude never missed.

This is an album I'd been meaning to dive into for a while and it did not disappoint. His vocals are powerful and the instrumentation is so full and beautiful.

Killer beats and the MCs have such chemistry. The constant switching between them lends the songs great forward motion which really works.

Formative album for me and still holds up 20 years later. This is Green Day's magnum opus in my eyes. Lots of great commentary but also amazing songwriting. I love the suites in particular.

Love the mix of influences here, including one of my favorites, shoegaze. It doesn't get lost in the wall of sound though, but explores a lot of other areas including indie rock, jazz, and even reggae.

I've only casually listened to Bill Callahan, and this is probably my first full album listen, but I really dig it. 2009 really was a banner year for music and this is no different. Great lyrics and vocals and lush instrumentation.
