At first I was inclined to give 2 stars; its just random notes and trumpet improvising. After listening some more, I remembered that I actually quite like disorganized notes. The trumpet playing is interesting - as a modern trumpeter (albeit not a very good one) it doesn't seem revolutionary, but I also wasn't alive in 1969, so...

Also, the bit of it being a full length album consisting of 2 tracks is just so good.

‘Bliss’ is the word you were looking for.

Simply beautiful, start to finish. In A Silent Way will be getting a permanent spot in my playlist. You can find something new with each listen.

Rated 8/10

Enjoyable jazz. Maybe little more low key than some of the other jazz entries on the list, but quite enjoyable.

Rated 10/10

Really enjoyed this. Shocked at how different it was. Starts to be an electronic ambient album in parts. Which given its age is incredible.

Rated 10/10

The second track is Post-rock about 30 years before post-rock existed. Phenomenal.

I mean it's Miles Davis what do you expect. One of the pillars and pinnacles of jazz. Wonderful stuff

Rated 8/10

Not my favourite Miles album, but it's still a solid record.

Rated 10/10

To me this is the mount Rushmore of the music, simply breathtaking and beautiful in every conceivable way. One of Miles masterpieces and this one is probably my favourite, one of the first works of jazz fusion, an album I just never get tired listening to as you always notice something new, of course it's 5 stars and even that doesn't do this beauty a justice!

Rated 2/10

There's only two tracks on this one people. First track sounds like it could be played under the world's longest montage of museum art robbers getting into place. Second track starts off as whimsical wind chimes, then picks it up and you start to think "here we go" but then it jumps down into the slow jazz that I don't think anyone likes. Picks back up again a tiny bit towards the end but by that point, too little too late, what else do you want me to say

Rated 10/10

This is my favorite Davis album. It manages to be so experimental but still sounds so pleasant and playful. It’s an album you can just as easily fall asleep to as listen deeply and feel every note

Rated 8/10

Very good album.

I'm not a jazz expert but I'm a bit familiar with Miles Davis (especially, with his album "Kind of Blue").

I found this album very good, especially the second piece ("In A Silent Way"). Overall, a solid 4 star album for me.

Rated 8/10

Fusion-era Miles Davis should be a good listen, right? It is a good enough listen-if you like sidelong jazz workouts. This album consists of two sidelong jazz fusion pieces, with "Shhh/Peaceful" being a pretty good extended jazz song. The title track starts less energetic and more intimate than "Shhh/Peaceful" before it ultimately settles into a nice jazz groove. This is a pretty good jazz fusion album that showcases Miles Davis's willingness to experiment with different styles of jazz and his excellent musicianship, allowing for a uniquely great album. I would expect nothing less from the greatest jazz musician of the album era.

Day 1

Miles Davis does not disappoint. Really, this just goes to show how PHENOMENAL jazz is 😫

Fav track: In a Silent Way

EDIT: In hindsight, no wasted momentum, bumped to a 5/5

This is actually "The Good Stuff".

5.0/5.0: Iconic

The saxophones are getting louder

Rated 10/10

Profound, meditative, beautiful.

Bitches Brew is all aggressive "look at me" while this is its exact opposite.

One to live with and get to know.
