I thought this was pretty good but it's quite samey and very long. Layla is so good though. I think George Harrison would really enjoy this band.

Damon Albarn sings in a really annoying way. It's like he can't stay in the same octave for a full line. It's not pleasing to the ear.

I liked Maggie May and that one cover of an Elvis cover. 3.5

Every time you think the production on one of these tracks sounds good, check the credits. It'll be Kanye West. This album wouldn't be half as good without him. Wonder what happened to him. Hope he's living a nice controversy-free life somewhere quiet. Jay's lyrics are OK but the song with Eminem was a mistake because Em makes him sound silly by contrast.

I do not like Elbow. It's rare that I skip songs but there were multiple here that I just couldn't finish: An Audience with the Pope, Weather to Fly, The Fix, and Some Riot were just awful. One Day Like This is OK but does it need to be almost 7 minutes long? The only song I genuinely enjoyed was the last one.

The only time the English national anthem sounds good is when it's performed by Red Special.

A Christmas Gift for you from Darlene Love, The Ronettes, Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans, and The Crystals with some killer production. Can't think of a better Christmas album. Darlene's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) is a top 5 all time Christmas song.

It's not my favourite album of all time but it's hard to say it's not (one of) the best. 6/5

I liked this album musically but Jim Morrison has an annoying voice and L'America is awful

It was good but I've always heard this album was one of the greatest and it just didn't quite live up to that status

I remember listening to this when Rolling Stone updated their top 500 albuns list around 2020 and this took the number 1 spot. Not sure it'd be my number 1 but it's certainly up there and it's certainly a 5/5.
