So first of all, fuck Phil Spector, he's dead anyways, but still, I hope he's having a real hot time right now.
That out of the way, I don't have that nostalgia or strong feelings towards these songs, since I'm not American or British or anything anywhere near the English-speaking folks. I know the songs from American media, but that's about it. I've never listened to them to feel the Christmas spirit. I just get the 90's American TV Christmas spirit. It makes me feel like I'm in one of those movies. That's why I feel I can give a more unbiased opinion. It's not a perfect album, but it's really fun, actually deserving of being on this list. It's incredibly influential, it makes a whole holiday (alongside newer songs, but that's besides the point). It's really good, but I still wanna keep my rating system. Would I actively listen to these songs? Not really. Not even on Christmas. Are they bangers? Absolutely!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! And Phil, once again, rot in whatever hell you believed in, in all of them actually, since I don't believe in any.

I am not a big fan of novelty songs, but this is quite a good classic collection of Christmas songs. Gotta give it to Mr. Phil the Killer. Probably between 3 and 4 stars. I suppose this is indeed the definite Christmas album, but then again I just don't care for this stuff.

I'm not like, into Christmas music, but this was very enjoyable

I HATE Christmas songs

Ne slavim Božić, ovo mi ništa ne znači. Odslušala da ispoštujem, nije grozno. Upravo sam saznala da je ovaj tip nekog ubio. Ludnica.

Happy Christmas!

The best gift I could get from a convicted murderer

1960s girl groups are one of the casualties of a list that prioritises albums over singles, so I’m glad that’s there’s some Crystals/Ronettes representation. Also, Phil Spector’s maximalist approach works so well with Christmas songs.

I mean, it's Christmas music. It serves its purpose. But its not something I'm going to *listen* to, you know?
But yeah. Its fine.

ALL those Christmas bangers on one album??? Don’t mind if I do
Rated 6/10
It’s of its era now, but is part of Christmas in our family.
Have to just ignore the Phil Spector element to it.

Absolute gold.
Darlen Love singing Baby Please Come Home is a powerhouse of Yuletide heartbreak.
Silent Night, however, where Spector himself gives us a little cosy chat is a step too far into kitsch.

Xmas classic

if i liked christmas music this would be an all time great but alas.

These singers are wonderful - this is a cool choice for a Christmas record. But....
I guess for some people, no matter how many times they hear "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" in a given season they're still always filled with warm nostalgia for childhood Christmas mornings, and can't wait to hear it again. Aw, and now here's Frosty! They love that song!
But honestly, me? I really would be glad to never hear about Frosty again. And now it's the end of the season, when I'm looking forward to not hearing any of it for another 11 months. (Plus, Phil Spector, eew.)
They should have given me this record on December 1; I might have given it a 3 then.

Obviously Spector's a huge piece of shit and the world would be better off if he never existed. But also this is exactly what Christmas is supposed to sound like, so what can you do.

Didn't get around to listening to this properly, and somehow my last review got repeated here. I'll give it a proper listen next Xmas, I promise!!

Sounds great. But, after all, it's Christmas music.

Wall of sound is an unexpected addition that Christmas was missing until this release
A truly great album and possibly the greatest crimbo album ever .
5 stars all day long. Even if it’s only listened to 3 weeks of the year .
Darlene love does a lot of the heavy lifting and it would have been interesting to hear a full album of her Christmas songs

Nice xmas album. Should have made Last Christmas before Wham so no 5 stars
